Rumored Draft Day Deal Deng/Boozer for Harris/Millsap

‏@chicagobullsbot 20 Aug Chicago Bulls rumored deal on draft day involved Carlos Boozer & Luol Deng getting Devin Harris, Paul Milisap and others back (3 Team Deal)
Chicago apparently offered the deal, but I cannot find any information as to why one or more of the teams backed out. Certainly interesting, as it would have cleared enough room for a max contract next offseason.

Maybe we are going after Harden?

I'd be all over that deal.

Damn.

Paul and Harris would have been off the books after next season.. That would have been a fantastic deal.

The insider says that the Bulls offered this deal and the finer points were being worked out, so it wasn't like Utah expressed an interest in him.

Boozer would have some value as a stop gap Millsap replacement and as a large expiring in two seasons. Not many free agents would select Utah as their #1 spot, so I would assume they would usually have to acquire their talent via trade.

Although since this didn't happen, perhaps Boozer was the reason why it never got done.

Re: Rumored Draft Day Deal Deng/Boozer for Harris/Millsap

Boozer hurt his achilles in Utah. They know he can't leave the ground and spent almost half of his career on the injured list. Nobody is looking for him.

The Bulls overpaid their players. The only two worth the money are Rose and Noah. They are trying to dump the rest but, can't find a sucker.

Haha Deng is alot better than Harris, but Utah taking Boozer back without have a solid point guard would be stupid, especially giving up millsap.

If it's true Bulls are going after Harden, that would be pretty amazing for the bulls. If think a Rose and Harden 1 2 punch would be pretty special.

Millsap is on the block and is expected to be out of Utah by the deadline. It seems that the Jazz have already made up their mind that they don't want to re-sign him for what he is going to command (or Millsap secretly told Utah that the did not want to sign an extension with them for whatever reason).

Bulls were aggressively pursuing Mayo and Tyreke Evans as well, and they both will remain targets for the 13-14 offseason. That could be why they put so much importance on acquiring the TPE, as both are likely to command more than MLE deals and would have to be acquired via S&T.
