Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau was asked about the possibility of Cook's arrival before Friday's game and did not want to show his hand regarding the potential move.
"When it happens, I'll have thoughts," Thibodeau said.
Daequan Cook, out of THE Ohio State University (having gone there I'm contractually obligated to emphasize the "THE"). He's no Kyle Korver, but he can shoot the three, which we need. I don't expect him to play much.
Why do alumni of Ohio State emphasis the "THE"? I've been wondering that ever since I heard AJ Hawk and other footballers say they're from THE OHIO State University. You never hear Michigan State people saying they're from THE Michigan State, or hear people say I'm from THE Iowa State, or THE Kansas State or THE Bemidji State.
It is technically the correct name, but it still comes off as them being arrogant. I very much enjoyed their football losses while I was an undergrad, it was nice to not have to deal with even more nonsense from them. Also, the O-H! I-O! thing is terrible, stupid, and the state isn't even all that nice. Screw that noise.
Ha, I showed up at orientation and everyone kept saying "the" with emphasis... I thought it was pretentious and absurd at the time... that perception hasn't really changed, I just say it now to annoy other people.... like KJ, for example, who went to some poor lower level ohio college without a "The" to arrogantly emphasize.
It is absolutely right KJ , won't take lot of time to comment on DCook Thibs .
Just have to wait and watch , don't over rate someone whose performance you haven't seen yet .
