Bulls All-Time Team
]Starting 5
PG- Derrick Rose SG- Michael Jordan SF- Scottie Pippen PF- Dennis Rodman C- Artis Gilmore I just did the Starting 5 but feel free to include bench players on your team. There's not many other franchises that would have a chance in hell against this starting 5 that's for sure.

PF: Horace Grant SF: Bob Love SF: Toni Kukoc SG: Jerry Sloan SG: Chet Walker PG: Norm Van Lier C: Joakim Noah (Ha... seriously, who else would work as our backup C/PF? Elton Brand only played 2 seasons here... Tom Boerwinkle? Dave Corzine? Luc Longley? Bill Cartwright? Tyson Chandler? Ben Wallace? Dave Greenwood?... I'm sure you see the flaws in all of those options) Luol Deng and Reggie Theus probably deserve to be somewhere on the roster, I just couldn't bump Kukoc and was trying to have work-able rotation.

I'd make two changes. I'd start Horace Grant since the list is about their careers as a Bull. Dennis Rodman was not the Dennis of 1990, far from it, or it would be no contest. People will say, "Well, Rodman was a great defender and rebounder, even if he only ever scored around 6 PPG and never shot higher than 48% for the Bulls. He was a great defender and rebounder..." I counter with this. Horace Grant was NBA all defensive 2nd team 4 times, so he was a very good defender also. On the other end, his offense was the biggest difference between the two players. Consider 1992 when he averaged 14.2 PPG, 10 RPG and shot 57.8%. Can you imagine how nice it would be to get 57.8% on that many points from ANYONE on this team? Consider 1994 when he was an all star as the NUMBER TWO option, something Dennis Rodman never was for the Bulls (a #2 option). With stats hard to come by with Pippen and Jordan, who were far more statistically profound in 91-93 than 96-98, Grant's numbers suffered. In 1994 he averaged 15.1 PPG, 11.0 RPG, 3.4 APG and shot 52.4%. Best part about Grant? Unlike these current Bulls, whose FG% drops in the playoffs, Grant went buck wild. His FG% during the playoffs for the Bulls three peat? 58.3%, 54.1% and 54.6%. How nice would it be if Carlos Boozer could do that v. the Heat? The other switch? Ron Harper for Jerry Sloan. The numbers and prime athleticism were not there, but the fact that he was a dynamic option and did it within the confines of winning TITLES.. it matters.

Re: Bulls All-Time Team
I have no problem with Grant over Rodman, I was just piggy-backing off of the original post.
I'd take Sloan over Harper... Sloan started with the expansion Bulls and I think he only missed the playoffs one year of his entire career with us. Didn't win a championship obviously, but it wasn't like he was Jamal Crawford or something.

Re: Bulls All-Time Team
I would also lean towards Grant over Rodman and Sloan over Harper.

Re: Bulls All-Time Team
I'd easily take Joakim Noah as a backup big man on the all-time Bulls team. And maybe it's recency bias and my lack of seeing Artis Gilmore (who I know was a beast) but I'd even consider Jo as the starting center. Gilmore was huge and I'm sure a great asset in the paint but Noah is such a great team player, really versatile, good passer, help defender, rebounder, etc. He would be amazing next to MJ and Pippen, something I would've loved to see.
