Official Draft Pick Contest
Not sure how many peeps will be hangin' in here, but for anyone who wants to, I'm gonna hold a draft pick contest. Here's the rules:
Picking for the current team on the clock, you must make your pick at least 1 minute before the selection is announced on ESPN. (You can make all your picks, but that would put you at a disadvantage)
You can post either the player you think the team will pick, or post "trade", meaning you think the team will trade the pick.
You get 10 points for correct picks, 1 point for a "back-up" pick.
With approximately 1 minute to go, I will post "TIME". Any submitted picks for that team after my "TIME" post, will not count.
The contest lasts for the first 10 picks, so the maximum amount of points you can get is 100.
Simple enough, huh... let's play.

For example, here is my actual first pick:
For Orlando, I think they will take Howard. My back-up choice for the Magic is Okafor.
If Orlando takes Howard, I get 10 pts. If they take Okafor, I get 1 pt. If they take someone else, or trade the pick, I get zero pts.
By the way, a major thunderstorm is cruising thru... hope I don't get bumped off, or cable gets booted!

Man... between a storm messing with the 'lectricity and knocking off my computer, to this site being so slow with all the posters on.....
no points for me for Char (who I had taking Okafor), and no points for me for Chi (who I had taking Iguadala)
OK, I might be the only one playing... makes me odds on winner!
Clippers- I have them taking Livingston, with Devin Harris as back-up pick.

10 pts for me.
Dallas on the clock, this site still amazingly slow (and I have a cable connection too!)
I think Dallas will take a pg (as I think Nash is trade bait)
Dallas takes Devin Harris, with Deng as the backup pick

Bingo... this pick from the Wiz will go to Dallas. 10 for me... whoo-whoo!! I'm winning!
Ok, the ATL on the clock... tough choice...
I'm gonna say they take Iguodala, with Deng as the back-up choice

Hmmm... Childress to the ATL... surprise.
The Bulls are real happy right now... Deng, Jackson, Iguodala... they are thrilled.
I say they take Iguodala, with Deng as the back-up pick.
As a Cavs fan, I like the way this is turning out. If one more team takes a read, Clev could be forced to not take Jameer... which is a good thing IMO.

freakin' site is so freakin' slow.... anyway...
Cavs... finally... and we got real lucky... Luke Jackson or Kirk Snyder, or one of the evil tiny PGs.... come on Clev, make my day.
Either Luke or Kirk I am happy with... one brings offensive flow, the other brings a defensive mentality. I want Jackson, but Silas is a defensive minded coach.
I predict Clev will take Snyder, with Jackson as my back-up choice.

I am happy as well. I wasn't sure that Jackson would still be available when we picked. Of course now that we've picked up 2 sf's I wonder if we will be players in the free agent market.
By the way MongolMike you were starting to worry me with all that talking to yourself.

Toronto taking that center really helped us out... now, with Jameer falling, I wonder if Clev will try to get back into the first to take him? Maybe Utah would take Wagner for the 16th pick?
Anyway, as for me talking to me self... it's all good... it's when there's a disagreement with me self that things get ugly!
FA... if we don't get another draft pick, I think Paxson has been pretty clear that Ollie is out, and a FA PG is a target... right?

He's out if at all possible. I'm sure they won't trust him with the keys to the team. I was hoping that the Cavs might be able to pick up Duhon. While he's not a very good shooter, I think he runs a team fairly well and therefore would make a descent backup point guards. Which makes me wonder why Chicago picked him. How many point guards does one team draft?

Chicago might play Gordon a lot at the 2. I heard the idea of Gordon-Hinrich being played at the same time. Who knows.
