If Boozer Is A Liar And Everything Else Bad....
Why are Gund and Pax offering him a 1 year, $5 million deal?
Doesn't this just give away that they know they f'd up?

Why is another thread necessary?
But to answer your question. The Cavaliers are offering a one year deal because that would allow everyone to save face. And the Cavs would be able to offer more next year. I don't agree with the logic, but then I probably wouldn't have trusted Boozer (or any player for that matter) in the first place.

If Boozer takes it, he admits he's wrong..
The Cavs are doing that by making the offer...
Here's a good question, if the Cavs wanted to help Boozer out and all that jazz, why not offer him the 5 million this year to begin with?

They did. They offered him as much money as they could offer him. And the deal had an opt out at year 3 so Boozer could get even more money.

Ya, by signing him for 1 year at 5 million they are again only trying to pamper Boozer. By offering him this it sets him up to make much more next yera then in his deal with Utah.

Cavs should have done this in the first place, instead of trying to lowball him for long term.
I think everything will be fine if boozer takes this deal. everybody can save face and i'm sure a couple good games in the season the fans will forget all about this offseason drama.

Except by all indications, he has barely even considered taking this offer. It's a good gesture but I think Boozer is as good as gone.

Yeah, but after trying to lowball him and then trying to make him seem like this money-hungry backstabber, i think this offer doesn't have the sincerity that it would have had if it was offered right after they decided not to pick up his option. The trust just isn't there anymore, not to mention the security and comfort that Boozer once had in cleveland is probably dissipated now.
Let's face it, the organization screwed up. And EVEN if they had an oral agreement as the cavs claimed they have, then it's illegal and invalid so Boozer did no wrong by running to Utah. There's just no other way of looking at this(well, no way that makes the organization look good). So many things they did wrong. I feel your pain because i went through the same thing as a vancouver grizzlies fan.

Stop with this lowball crap. You dont lowball someone when you offer them the max amount of money you can shell out

I'm tired of hearing this "The Cavs tried to screw him" talk. By all reports, he is the one who wanted to get out of his contract early, and he knew that was all they could offer him. In retrospect it looks like he never wanted to stay in Cleveland at all. Too bad the Cavs didn't see it coming.

well about this lowballing business, the letter gordon gund wrote states that he told carlos that if he waited a year he could earn a lot more, if all of what gordon has said then the cavs have clearly done everything right in this situation and boozer has indeed screwed them over in every possible way.
