Halftime
Cavs - 46
Celtics - 43
Caught the game in progress and missed some of it. Boston closed the 2nd quarter strong to make the game closer after falling down by double digits.

Luke needs to be more aggressive on offense.

End of 3rd
Cavs - 69
Celtics - 61
The crowd is getting into the game more now. Pierce had some words for McInnis and Bron stepped over and talked back to Pierce and both got double technicals. The trash talk wasn't even that bad (Pierce was walking to the bench and Bron wasn't even following after him).
Both teams obviously want to win this game now.

Final
Cavs - 95
Celtics - 88
This was a very good game to watch, even thought it is just a preseason game. It was very entertaining.

Good game by Gooden, 25-10 on 10-15 shooting.

Man I'm excited to see this team in the regular season. They just seem so balanced right now in their attack.
I feel like Lebron is just sitting back and seeing whatever the team needs on a given night and giving that. Seem to be coming together as a team early on. This could be a big suprise team. I can't say that enough.

I was at the game in Columbus.
Boy was Drew Gooden killing the C's inside. He is going to be one hell of a player. First off, he was great at finishing inside. He had some nice reverse layups and got a few open court layups off steals. He also had some nice blocks down the stretch (something we never got from boozer!) and hit his free throws.
Gooden is WAY better than alot of people give him credit for, he drifts sometimes on defense and makes a bonehead play from time to time, but the numbers he is putting up are comparable if not better than Boozer. That trade was a complete ripoff, I bet Battie hasn't had a 25pt 10reb game in his life. Add to that, Gooden is a legit 6'10 and very well built, not undersized like Boozer. As hard as it may to believe, if Gooden can carry this level of play into the season we are better off with him because he can rebound nearly as well, hit the midrange jumper and finish just like Boozer, but is a much better shot blocker/more athletic and has a cheaper deal.
Lebron looked great as well, he made some great passes and pushed the ball on the break well. Silas did a nice job of featuring him in the post and Lebron either scored or set up a teammate for an easy score every single time. He also played very good D on Pierce, he has definitely carried that over from the olympics. He also knocked down a few midrange jumpers, but missed from 3 a couple times. He had one monster tomahawk jam on a breakaway if you catch the highlights. The only bad thing I noticed was he is not hitting the boards as hard as he did last year, part of it is Gooden is all over the glass all game but i'd like to see him more aggressive on the boards. He also seemed to be holding back like a previous poster mentioned, which is impressive cause he has still been 20+ points in the last couple games on a good fg%. He is also an improved ft shooter, Silas even has him shooting techs now for the team.
Other things I noticed was that Snow is a GREAT player for us. He does all the little things that don't show up in the boxscore. Plays great defense, runs the 2nd unit offense well, and is just a heady player. Harris is OK, but his defense is definitely subpar.
Bad things:
Z looked terrible, he was slow up and down the floor, lazy on defense, wasn't establishing position in the post down low, missed chip shots, just all around a bad game. He started slow last year too, so lets hope he can shake the rust in the next 2 preseason games.
Luke Jackson is timid on offense, but has some nice passing skills and good form on his shot. He was also very good on defense, which was surprising. Once he gets comfortable, he could be a nice player for us at the 2 spot.
Overall this team is FAR improved from this time last year. I watched all but 2 or 3 games last season and there is no comparison. At worst, if healthy this team will get the 5 seed .

gooden is a better rebounder than boozer, in fact, he's a better player than boozer overall. that's why he was the 4th pick. boozer is a nice player but come on, one of the reasons he greatly improved last year was because of the system here, and with a star like lebron, and big Z to take the pressure off him, all the minutes that he can play, and a good coach. i'm not trying to disrespect him but any half decent PF would be able to put up nice stats if they were in his position.

Very nice game by Gooden. Since Boozer didn't really play great defense anyways, you guys might not have lost much after all. Gooden can produce if he's given minutes - my very first post on bbb.net was about how much I liked Gooden's offensive game, and I still do (though I think like most second and third tier power forwards he could learn to pass better).
