1st Place
After the Cavs win against the Raptors and the Pacers losing the Cavs are in total control of the central division. And 2nd in the east.
Who would of thought before this season that the cavs would of been ahead of the Pacers/Pistons any time in the year? I know it's early but with Pacers being hurt we can gain some great ground on them. Also Pistons havn't been playing that great even though Ben Wallace is back.

We need just one of the guys on the bench to step it up on a CONSISTENT basis to be a true 6th man and then we got a very good shot. Snow is more of defensive/change of pace guy who we need but might not be able to give us that instant offense/outside shooting we need . Jackson, Harris, or Sasha need to step it up and then we would be set.

How true. I can only grin when I hear the words "1st place and Cavaliers" in the same sentence. Even if the reign only lasts a brief while, I remember it I shall.

Lucious Harris been stepping up and hitting the jumpers... If he can do that on a daily basis we can go deep into the season and playoffs.

I agree i dont think Harris will start because silas doenst want to mess around with stuff that is working. But i think Snow-Harris-Tractor-Anderson is about as deep as we go.

As many people (including me) pointed out Harris is a much better player when he comes off the bench. He's one of those guys who seems to be more comfortable without the pressure of starting and going up against second stringers.

Yep I agree with Pioneer, let Harris get comfortable with his bench role.
Detroit is really our only major competition to take the Central at this point. I have a feeling they will pick up their play though so it will be tough.

Alright not only are we in the lead in the Central but now are tied for first in the Eastern Conference.
Thank you Detroit fans for knocking out the Pacers for awhile

The Cavs are now in first place with the same win/loss percentage as Washington but a 1/2 game lead since they've actually played more games.
This Cavs team should actually be better as the season goes on (provided they don't have any big injuries). Indiana needs to stay close otherwise there is a real chance that the Cavaliers will stay in first in the central.

Clev has also had a pretty easy start of the season... that coupled with the troubles in Det and Indy, we'd BETTER make progress right now....
and I agree, we'll improve as the season progresses, but then so will Indy when they get JO and Jackson back, and I'd think Detroit will get squared away too.... they are still solid and will figure out what they need to do.
I guess the question is, do you think we will make a trade (Diop and Wagner and ?) for a substantial player before too long? This could have a major impact on chemistry or talent level for us....
So.... here is my list of our player's trade potential from Silas's point of view. The names at the top of the list are least likely to be traded if it was up to Silas.
1)LeBron - ain't gonna happen
2)Z - it would have to be a huge trade offer with Clev coming out a clear winner... very unlikely
big gap after 1 & 2...
3)Gooden, Tractor, McInnis - I think any 3 of these COULD be traded, but it is still unlikely. Gooden shows flashes, but he isn't a sure thing. Silas loves what Tractor brings, but he is obviously not a starter, and McInnis has really provided some unexpected offense, but Silas can't be happy with his defense. Any of these 3 could be traded, but it would still be considered a major trade for us and we'd have to come out clear winners for Silas to sign-off on trading any of these 3.
4)Varejeo - again, with the right offer, Anderson could be traded, but I almost put him in the above group because in a short time Silas has to be really pleased with what Anderson has shown... aggressiveness without the stoopid fouls that Diops brings, good shooting touch, hits the boards hard.... what has this kid done wrong so far? More minutes for sure, but other teams see the same thing and are gonna ask for him too. If say a trade was in the works for Redd, and part of the deal was including Varejeo, Silas wouldn't like it, but he'd almost have to pull the trigger.
5)Snow, Ira - bench strength here, and Silas values that. But these guys could obviously be traded and other teams would welcome their veteran-ness... just like they did with Battie and Eric Williams. Silas wouldn't want to see them go, but he wouldn't stress about it too much.
6)Luke, Lucious - I wouldn't be surprised to see either of these two included. Lucious provides some spark for the here-and-now which Silas needs, and Luke could do the same down the road. Both have value for different seasons, but neither is indispensable at this point. Not sure the fan favoritism for Luke would factor much into Silas's decision... Pax might consider it tho.
7)Sasha, Diop, Wagner, Williams - funny thing is, two of these characters will probably be the central figures of any trades Clev makes in the near future... yet none of them are getting any signigicant minutes. If Silas/Paxson could trade all 4 of these guys for another solid bench player... he'd do it. Tell me he wouldn't trade all 4 of these guys for Eric Williams or Tony Battie straight up. He'd do it in a second.

Good breakdown.
The one thing with any trade situation (even with Diop, Wagner) is that unless we really get a solid player for them - we would be very stupid to pick up any gaurentedd contracts.
Remember by Wagner, Diop coming off the books we get cap space for a potential run at Redd, etc

I know... but why wait to free agency? Might Milw want to trade now and at least get something for him? Unless they thing they've got an inside track to resign him....
