Traylor Out 3-4 Weeks

Scott Williams activated in his place ...
Quote:
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Robert Traylor will miss three to four weeks after breaking his left pinkie against the New Jersey Nets.

Traylor, a reserve averaging 5.1 points and 4.0 rebounds, was placed on the injured list. Cleveland activated Scott Williams for Wednesday night's game against Chicago. Williams is averaging 2.2 points and 1.7 rebounds in 10 games.

Traylor has been a nice addition for the Cavaliers, who signed him as a free agent this summer. The six-year veteran has been used to fill at forward and to back up center Zydrunas Ilgauskas. Traylor had four points and four rebounds in 13 minutes Tuesday night when the Cavaliers won their eighth straight home game.

DOH!
He was in such good shape too.

Hopefully this just means more minutes for Anderson and he can step up.

Gooden has to bring it too to compensate.

Ohh too bad:

1)Injuries happen: as long is not anything to Lebron or Z's foot we can deal

2)More time for Anderson might not be a bad thing in the long run

3)Traylor it's your finger. Run, jump, starimaster, bike, whatever - Stay in shape and don't turn into the Big O (Oliver Miller, of course)

I was wondering about that.... I saw him wince and hold his hand during the game... he looked down at it, and stayed in the game for another minute...

too bad... he had been playing really well too.... but why so long? He's not left handed... he can still bang and board with his pinkie in a cast/splint... right?

If he doesn't watch out, Anderson might get his minutes AND Diop's too!

then again.... I see there are whispers of a Clev-NJ trade involving Aaron Williams and Diop and maybe Wagner.

Williams isn't getting any run in NJ, and NJ might be willing to take on two expiring contracts.... plus Wags goes back home. NJ might be a great fit for him.

Williams is 33, and I think has 1 year left on his contract for about 3mil. He's a hard working PF, and I'd say is a little better shooting and rebounding than Tractor, AND I think Williams plays a lot better defense.

You can never have too many bigs, and I don't know how the salaries match, but Aaron would get more minutes for Clev than Wags and Diop combined would get... meaning, he'd be more useful to our team, especially with Tractor out for a while.

Nice... Aaron Williams would be very good for the Cavs. He's a very good roleplayer at his position.

I don't think Aaron Williams contract ends at the end of the year.

If it does fine but we should not be picking any of guys with years on their contracts: otherwise we're losing cap space we could be using to get Redd

Williams would be a good fit for this squad without question.

The one thing we'll miss without Traylor is the toughness he brings to the team.

And what's up with the 4 weeks, he should be able to play though that injury sooner than that...
