anderson's history?
okay, so i'm sold on anderson. for a rookie big man he's playing damn good right now. you can't expect a rookie foreign big man (that can barely speak the language) to come in and dominate, but he's earning quality minutes and it's clear he belongs out there and should grow into a hell of a player.
please someone take a little time to give me a little background on the kid up until his arrival in cleveland. i don't know much of where he came from and why besides what's on the nba/cavs site.

Haha, right before I clicked on this Anderson slapped it away from Antoine when he had a lot of room.
Usually vets can blow past rookies.

Anderson was an amazing pickup. When you think that all it took to get him AND Gooden was Tony Battie, it's even more amazing.
Orlando doesn't care because of Dwight Howard i'm sure, but that could end up as one of the most lopsided trades in recent memory.

Seems that the national media is starting to pay attention to the Cavs own Anderson Varejao and it seems that they are asking the same questions that we have.
"Paul Silas: Play Anderson Varejao
Here's what we know about Cleveland's frontcourt reserves so far: Robert Traylor has been a huge disappointment (literally), DeSagana Diop rhymes with slop for a reason, and Anderson Varejao is absolutely electric. So it's mystifying to see Varejao barely playing more minutes than Diop and seeing about half as much time as Traylor. The Brazilian rookie is shooting 57 percent and averaging 17.6 points and 10.6 rebounds per 40 minutes, plus he hustles like crazy and rocks a mean Carrot Top 'do that gets the locals in a frenzy. Shouldn't Silas give a guy like that get some more burn?"
While I disagree about their depiction of Traylor, everything else was pretty much on the money

yeah i learned last season when i watched WAY too much league pass that so many of the experts around this league don't know what they are talking about. most don't keep more than 2-3 players per team in their frame of information and just make ish up about the rest.

I think the was a rough description of Tractor Traylor. He has played really well for us off the bench so i dont know what thats all about.

Does anyone have pics of whatever league he was in before the NBA? I wanna get a Varejao versey but I dunno if his jerseys in the past looked good or not compared to the retros/regulars of the cavs.

How did Anderson do over in Spain?
I belive I heard that he was somewhat a dissappointment over there but I'm not sure. Surprising, since he's looks great in the NBA and I believed played well for the Brazilion national team as well

He was solid but never consistent... he'd have 2 good games than suck in 2 others then get injuried... played well 3 games sucked 2... you know the drill...
But he was a fan favorite already... when you talk about anderson you talk about style AND energy!

He finally made it on the radar screen. Anderson to No 8 on the got milk rookie ranking
http://www.nba.com/milk_rookie/rankings_050110.html
I bet Orlando wishes they hadn't included him in this trade.

Hmm. Well he's still awfully young. Does he look improved at all (I know his jump shot looks good) since his Spain day or could we expect that sort of inconsitency with the Cavs. I personally haven't seen it but again he's a bench guy right now. I'm hoping he one's of young lynchpins (along with Gooden and hopefully Luke or Sasha) to build around Lebron
