Midseason grade thread

Diop - F
Horrible work ethic, injury plagued , just a big body. highlight of the year was stopping a tired pau gasol in a 8 minute spurt.

Wagner- F
Ditto as above .. another wasted pick

Luke Jackson- D
showed signs of being a terrific shooter in garbage minutes and then got a back injury. Oh well lets hope he doesnt bust.

Lucious harris - D+
Brung here to shoot yet hes been ultra inconsistant. We will need him however playoff time when experience is vital

Scott Williams- C
Has obviously been a lockerroom presence and hasnt played much but has experience which will be vital later on.

Traylor - C+
Passing skills are quite good , has a good touch , a good rebounder and decent defender. However he has bad shot selection, is still out of shape and fouls a lot.

Varejao-B+
Hard nosed rebounder. Hustle guy. Has a GOOD jumpshot but is afraid to use it. ****ty FT shooter

Gooden- B
A complete idiot sometimes. Absolutely GREAT rebounder. Great pick and pop down low 8 footer guy. EXTREMELY inconsistant.

Z- B-
Inconsistant should have his pic by it. He's still a top 3 or 4 center in the league. A terrific shooter although his fg percent sucks because thats all he does , and a decent shot blocker. Slower than dirt , but you knew that

Lebron - A+
If you dont know why read the main forum because about 70% of them are about the messiah.

Snow- B
A GREAT lockdown defender sometimes and then a solid one other times.I mean he comes in for one purpose to lock down a hot scorer and usually does a decent job of it. I was watchin the other night and he even shut down Mike miller a legit 6'8 great shooting guard. Not a good playmaker but has added a mediocre 3pt shot to his arsonal and has an OK midrange jumper.

Mcginnis - B
I'm a better defender , but despite this recent crap streak we have needed him. Usually our consistant 3pt shooter. Decent playmaker but lebron is the real PG.

Ira newble- Should be on the bench if we had a 2 guard, but is a very hardworking defensive minded player. Now if he could only be an elite 3pt shooter and we would have a champ contender.. He has however improved his shot (baselines only though lol ) to be makeable.

Pav- C+
Improving , shot hasnt really been there from outside but suprisingly playing like an american gettin most his points from driving dunking and and1s..

Think thats everyone haha

I'd give Mcinnis an A. He's playing the best ball he's capable of.

You have to be kidding me this guy is a complete no show on the defensive end. I'd give him a C+/B- max. We get killed by penetrating PG's. He's sometimes makes up for it as he's the only real shooter we have.

Frankly the only A on this team goes to Lebron

Z: B- I can't believe he's been this inconsistent in a contract year. He's rebounding has also been nonexistent. The only real inside threat we have.

Gooden: B Why can't he play like he did the last two games all the time? His brain dead moments make me laugh and cry at the same time

Newble: B- This is potential grade. He's playing as well as I expect Ira Newble to play and the best grade he can get is B-

Snow: B He's been what the Cavaliers expected. Decent defender (not as good as he's been in the past) and steady off the bench

Anderson: A- Frankly he's been terrific off the bench. Great hustle and rebounding. He's got star potentiol

Jackson: Incomplete. Basically been hurt all season. I actually still think he can be a star but back injuries are scary

Sasha: C but his stock is rising rapidly. need to play with lebron more instead of just the second unit

Traylor: B I don't like the Tractor but this is another potential grade. He's playing as well as the Tractor can play

Diop: F at this rate he'll become one of the worst draft picks of all time. He doesn't have injuries or drugs or anything else to blame. Good luck on another team

Wagner: F I don't know what the hell is wrong with this kid. Good luck on another team. He should have stayed in college for a few more years and worked on his PG skillls

Luscios Harris: C- He's been dissappointment. We could really have used a decent shooter

okay i'll take a crack at it:

Bron: A
would be an A+ if he gave man-up defense a try for more than 3 minutes a game.

Z: B
near a B- because of his lack of rebounding. Why can't any cav since boozer block out?

Gooden: B+
had huge shoes to fill and here we are talking about the last things needed to take his game to the next level. he might end up our horace grant.

Jmac: B-
jmac needs to concentrate on assists and defense and then scoring. his man defense is pathetic, it really is.

Newble: B
this is an A when the handicap is removed. what handicap you ask? he's ira newble. check him out. plus he's playing out of position.

Snow: B
inconsistent. has been an A- lately, at times he couldn't protect a lead for nothing and he was a C.

Lucious: B-
he shoots 5% better and he's an A- because he plays defense and works hard regardless of if his shot is falling

Sasha: C+
incomplete, has shown flashes. hopefully they won't give up on and let him grow with lebron

Andy: A
straight up heart and effort. needs to learn the language and follow the coaching and he could end up starting somewhere.

Tractor: B
stop shooting those jumpers and you have an A-. ferocious on the boards and a good teammate

Diop: I for incomplete
what has he done so bad that warrants no minutes? i think silas should be ready with diop the minute Z stops playing D. i still think you give this guy some adrenaline boosters and about 2 more years and he's dikembe wallace.

Wagner: F
wow, i can't believe he fooled so many scouts and experts. health problems my azz, when he's playing he can't play.

Jackson: I for incomplete
didn't think he'd make kapano look good but he did.

Scotty Williams: A+
for his great interviews and mainly for allowing lebron to continue his mimicking of the last great 23.

and continuing:

Mark Price: D
terribly boring, no question, but he doesn't get an F because everyone who ever heard him speak knew he was terribly boring all his life. but the cavs hired him anyway. no question.

Joe Tate: A+
as usual. mute the tv and love it. sometimes when the cavs are winning i feel best for joe - he deserves it as much as anyone

Austin Carr: B+
good analysis and home town fan guy announcer. old school 70's guys have a great perspective on the game because they bridged the modern and dinosaur days. when he mumbles so bad you can't make sense of it i still dig him.

Mike Reghi: C-
man would i love to fail him because he creeps me out, but at least he's generally factually correct and does come up with some ridiculous yet memorable calls. i really hate that we might have to go through this metamorphosis looking at his weird face and hearing him talk about respits and say "uh" at least twice as many times as real words in his sentence -- i thought guys like reghi were only foisted upon the dregs of the league.

The one i agree with the most is Joe Tate he is awesome to listen too. I would have to dock Austin Carr down to a C- ... He rambles on and on and sometimes changes subject in mid-sentence.

Just about Anderson Varejão

Varejão is the best brasilian guy play in the NBA, he have a really got jump shot, if you look at the boxscore of the game Brazil vs USA in pre-olympics, Varejão hits some of three points (international) so I think when until know Cavs just need him for defense but if he plays more minutes he´ll start show his jump shot.
