Yeah, he's alot more athletic than I thought. He does however play better defense when he doesn't jump at all. Tonight they kept trying to pump and ball fake him and he would not leave his feet which made them have to try to knock down the shot over him. Much better defense than the old pump fake and foul that he so often does.

Yeah I was begining to wonder about his athleticism because he had these layups where he didn't even jump. But then he had a block the other night where his hand was in the box area.. So I guess kid can jump. He's going to be a nice role player down the line. Maybe develop into a poor man's Matt Harpring?

I think Sasha is typical of a lot of Euros.... they only jump as high as they need to. American style players try to jump as high as they can to dunk, and go for the ESPN spot. When a lot of Euros dunk, they only jump high enough to clear the rim. Anyway, Sasha did a good job staying on his feet, but I'm not totally sold on his defensive ability. He had 4 steals last night, but he got beaten off the dribble a number of times too....

A poor mans Matt Harpring? Who wants him to be that? I expect him to be more of a rich mans Matt Harpring if anything.

Not to go too far off-topic, but why when comparing players, do most compare a current white player with another white player, and a black player to another black player? Rarely does someone compare the playing style of one race to another? For example, Sasha as compared to Matt Harpring (and you know Futuristex, that is not a knock on you, just a comment.)
Why not a comparison of Sasha to Jumaine Jones? Both have adequete hops, both play average defense, both can hit outside jumpers.... or to Latrell Sprewell? Both Sasha and Latrell disappear in certain games too.....

I don't know. I compared Kirk Hinrich to Gary Payton last year. I just think Sasha has that mix of shooting and athleticism that Matt Harpring had/has. And I think Matt Harping is better when healthy than Jumaine Jones. I compare Telfair to Stockton. And Anderson to JO. Sometimes it just works out that way. it's very clear for instance that Luke Ridnour has patterened his game after Steve Nash and Pistol Pete.

Really? Unless Telfair humbles his dribbling some, he's a trickster and does different moves/feints than Stockton and I couldn't really see it. On a side note, Telfair does the shorthand, push crossver faster than his cousin does (who shifts the ball over his hip slowly... maybe I'm watching too much basketball to comment on those little things.. lol).
