Exclamation The 4 year window

Basically Ferry has created a team to be a contender for 4 years (or till Lebron resigns with the Cavs):

1) Marshall (age 32) - the way he plays and the limited minutes throughout his career should be productive, ala Sam Perkins, till about age 35-6

2) Z (age 30) - centers tend to age well but with Z's feet he's not gonna play more then 3-4 years IMO. He'll be effective till then

3) Saras (age 29) - it will take him a year to get used to the NBA and then we'll have him during peak year till about age 33 where PG's tend to decline

4) Snow - old already but should be effective as a defensive stopper in limited minutes

Waiting in the wings is AV, Luke, and Sasha. Hughes will finish his career likely with Lebron. I'm not a believer in Martynas till I see a lot more. Gilchrist didn't pan out in the summer league. I haven't included Gooden because it's my belief he's going to be traded for a future first rounder (Oden draft?) to stockpile future talent. So basically now until 4 years we have a great mix of young and old players who seem to fit well together.

The question is due you think in this approximate four year window is this Cavalier core good enough to get into the Finals and at some point and will it be good enough have Lebron stay a Cav?

Re: The 4 year window

I can think of $20,000,000 reasons why Lebron would stay a Cav no matter what.

Re: The 4 year window

That's a really good question, and it's just too hard to predict. It'll be easier to make a judgement once we see how good of a coach Brown really is. I think coaching is going to be the difference, the Cavs already have most of the talent they need to compete for a title IMO.
