Re: Ferry should have called the Suns bluff...

^ Pioneer, you bring up a good point about Amare. I think he may consider signing his $3.5M qualifying offer after this season if the Suns don't win it all in 05-06, and they certainly won't win it all if JJ isn't resigned and all they added was Bell and Thomas. Though the offseason is still a long ways from over, so they may extend Amare this summer and sign some other good players.

I don't know dude. There's a whole site where that guy's articles are posted. It might have been one of the others.

Go ask the ATLien.

Lord knows Cavs fans are no strangers to bad reporting.

I thought it was completely shocking that the Suns wouldn't re-sign him personally. I thought that was the plan.

But it's a lotttt of money.

Re: Ferry should have called the Suns bluff...

I saw the article posted on another Hawks board I visit, but turns out it's just from an old article. Anyways, it is still relevant because right now nobody knows what is going to happen with Joe Johnson. Suns fans think it's a guaranteed that he is coming back, and Hawks fans just hope they can get some good luck for once.

Re: Ferry should have called the Suns bluff...

I can tell you for sure, Suns fans don't think it's guaranteed that Joe is coming back. It really could go either way. Sarver is not rich when it comes to basketball ownership. But they can't let JJ walk for nothing. Match and trade later if you must.

If JJ does walk, the pain could be eased by signing Finley...but he's just not the same player by any stretch of the imagination. I'd even take a sign and trade for Harrington and Delk and a throwin at that point, just to get something in return...and Harrington expires.

Re: Ferry should have called the Suns bluff...

Apparently the Ownership group of the Suns isn't willing to go over the cap limit.

considering they already traded Q to keep JJ, this is retarded. They could have done a sign and trade deal with the Hawks and got Al Harington and possible another promising player.

line-up

Nash
Q
Marion
Harrington
Amare
With either Josh Smith or Josh Childress 6th man

and possibly gotten of of the Josh, considering the hawks are getting JJ, their is no need for to keep another SG/SF

Re: Ferry should have called the Suns bluff...

Looks like they're planning to resign JJ. The Suns just traded Voskhul for a second rounder from the Bobcats so their clearing even more space.

It's all about staying under the cap. If you go over you're paying Voskhul closer to 3 million a year
