The fan reads about Brown's signing as president of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Spinning the computer mouse with a heavy heart, the fan reads about Brown's "eagerness" to learn the ways of an NBA GM and how the peripatetic coach is "confident" he'll create a winning team to surround James despite the scores of free agents who have already committed to other teams.
The Cavs fan groans while reading new Knicks GM Danny Ferry has secured the rights to All-Star center Zydrunas Ilgauskas and guard Larry Hughes in sign-and-trade deals. The fan mutters while reading Gilbert's plea to Ray Allen and Michael Redd to "Boozer-ize their teams, and come play for us!" The fan's loudest shriek is saved for a note at the end of the article, something about Brown bringing aboard the newly unemployed Isiah Thomas as his second-in-command. "After all," Brown says, "I could use the help crunching numbers, and nobody knows how to spend other people's money like Isiah."
