Lebron says he wouldnt mind playing for Jay-Z, in the future.
Quote:
During a Thursday
ESPN Radio interview with host Dan Patrick, Cavs superstar LeBron James declared a. He's been exchanging text messages with Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade during the Heat's NBA Finals series with Dallas; b. He feels no undue pressure to be the savior of Cleveland; and c. He wouldn't mind playing someday for his friend Jay-Z, a rapper and New Jersey Nets part-owner.

What do you guys think about this? I mean, Jay-Z has really been talking up Lebron, and that Nike deal, if he plays in New York/Chicago or LA, could Lebron really look to leave the Cavs?
its on realgm.com but i click the link and it will take u to cleveland.com

See Remy23's signiture.
Lebron saying he wouldn't mind playing for Jay-Z is like DWade saying he wouldn't mind playing with Lebron James. It's true, but it's not going to happen. Too much money would be left on the table, and too many hurt feelings.

My gut say's James Signs a HUGE deal this summer with the Cavs. If he doesn't, look for NJ to Ship out some players to make some Cap Room, or look for a S&T.
Ratner and Jay-Z would be all over LeBron if he wanted to come to NJ/ Brooklyn.

Man, the media is all over the Lebron leaving Cleveland thing, they just won't drop it. Ever since he was drafted it's been a constant thing.
Never understood the obsession.

Basically because ESPN only views NYC, LA and the Chi as "big market" cities. Meaning all the other professional sports cities are just medium-sized, slow paced, inferior counterparts to the big 3. I've never agreed with that view of things, especially having had the priviledge to travel the country extensively. And of course, ESPN and the media generally have always looked down on the state of Ohio. They keep pimping the big market teams as a lure to James, with the subtle suggestion to how much better and cooler those other places are to live/play and that being the reason why James must want to leave Ohio with the speed of a bat flying out of hell. It's frustrating but you already know the mainstream media and their ways.

yah remy preety much hit it on the head. Any big superstar for teh american media is always destined to go to one of the bigger markets for sports, they did the same thing when Vince was playing for the raptors. They thought he would leave, the thing the Cavs have going for them, is Lebron is FROM Ohio, he was born and raised there. So it shouldnt be an issue, and you can offer him the most money, id put my money on him staying.

I agree its not likely, but LeBron would only be leaving contract money on the table. He would make even more of a killing with endorsements in Brooklyn and working with Jay.

He'd come out pretty even with the additional endorsements he'd get in NY/NJ, Chicago, or LA, I agree there. But he's not going to leave when the Cavs are starting to add good pieces and he's in the hands of a man that has so far been a surprisingly impressive GM. He's also born and raised in the city and his team nearly got to the ECF. He's in a good situation.
The only way LeBron James leaves the Cavs is if something very drastic and unexpected happens with the personnel decisions/coach/GM or something of that nature.
