Re: Cavs vs. Raptors | Preseason Game #7 | 10/22/06
I realize its only preseason, but we played our starters again, back to back preseason games, just after an OT game. Also, if he is going to play Lebron less than 40min a game, how can he play him 41 min against the Hawks (in a loss).
Also, once again, late into the 2nd half and we havent played any of our youngsters, (no gibson/brown/sasha). We have our starting lineup and our rotation playing as if a regular season and they dont have Ford/Bosh and were struggling again.
Once again is preseason, but I dont like what Mike Brown is doing here, this is the time to get the youngsters the butterflies out of the system, we all know its hell chance they play over snow/wesley once the season comes around. But in a back to back preseason game, and they cant get burn?
I am very worried about our old and slow rotation off the bench !!!

Re: Cavs vs. Raptors | Preseason Game #7 | 10/22/06
I wish I was able to watch the game. Since I can't, I'm just following a box score.
James, Hughes (always nice to see), Zydrunas, Marshall and Gooden seem to be doing okay. Snow hasn't been so hot yet as of midway through the 3rd, no signs of the rookies.
Coach Brown needs to phase Snow out of the starting line up slowly but surely. But if the coach remains stubborn, we're not going to develop our rookies right away. I'm all for developing the young kids right now. Heck, if the kids can't even get burn in preseason games, it's not looking good for their future.

Agree Agree... Snow won by default last year, Jones was out of shape and no defense, now this year he has some pressure, no reason he keeps his job.

Hughes has a nice stat line...It's not on TV here either, but looks like Brown is treating this as a regular season game. AV looks lost in the last two games (boxscore wise)

Gibson makes it in at the 8 min mark, no Brown yet.

The Brown/Gibson affair has shades of the Varejao affair from the past. We were screaming for Andy to hit the court and get some burn, only to have it dragged out and after a period of time, finally get the kind of play we were asking all along for. I have a feeling the small guard situation will drag and stall in the same manner.

Well there has to be something we dont know. I mean they get millions of dollars to coach these teams, and view the talent. They must know something, they wouldnt play guys that are obviously worse than the guys behind them.

When do we start the funeral parades for Eric Snow and David Wesley's NBA careers? I'm happy to see Hughes has just had one bad preseason game and otherwise appears at the very least solid but seriously Snow and Wesley look like there done

Re: Cavs vs. Raptors | Preseason Game #7 | 10/22/06
Perhaps. Or we might have a coach who favors experience over youth. Snow when he's on doesn't help you much but doesn't hurt you much either (when Snow plays good defense and takes care of the ball, he's not a negative). And Coach Brown probably thinks the rookies may turn the ball over too much or get too eager on defense and do a silly foul. We need athleticism, defense and outside shooting from our guards. Even if Gibson/Brown were prone to make stupid fouls every now and then, they'd be a huge upgrade over Snow in the other areas. With the exception of facing Billups or another guard that Snow seems to do pretty decent again, I'd rather play the rookies. Against the quick athletic types (the NBA has a lot of these types), go with the rookies. But maybe against the more bruising type of players, go with Snow.

Re: Cavs vs. Raptors | Preseason Game #7 | 10/22/06
My big question to Brown and Ferry is that you didn't upgrade the PG position but then drafted a bunch of combo guards to play with Hughes/Lebron and leave the ball in our two best perimiter players. If you go ahead and do that why give no competition to Snow for the starter spot? He's by far you're weakest link: open it up a bit and play Brown and/or Gibson with the starters and see what they can do. This is why you drafted em
