Game 2

New Jersey Nets (0-1) @ Cleveland Cavaliers (1-0)
Tuesday, May 8th, 2007
Time: 5:00pm PT, 8:00pm ET
TV: TNT
Radio: WTAM 1100
Location: Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, Ohio
HEAD COACHES

PROBABLE STARTERS

NEW JERSEY NETS’ BENCH

CLEVELAND CAVALIERS’ BENCH

NEW JERSEY NETS’ NOTES
• New Jersey may not win the battle of the boards but they must do a better job in Game 2 to have a chance of stealing a game from the Cavs. The Nets need to be more physical and hold their ground. Because if they don’t, only lights out shooting will save them.
• The Nets need to force Cleveland to play their style of basketball. In Game 1, the Nets sort of played into Cleveland’s hands by playing an ugly, grinding type of game. New Jersey should pressure the ball more and speed up the pace of the game.
CLEVELAND CAVALIERS’ NOTES
• Cleveland’s offense needs to be sharper in Game 2. Despite winning Game 1 while not looking good, the Cavs shouldn’t head into the next game thinking another sloppy effort will get it done.
• If LeBron comes out in the next game over his cold and plays better, the Nets will probably make adjustments. Therefore, another all-around effort from LeBron’s teammates will be needed.
OVERVIEW
Cleveland held serve by winning Game 1 and needs to do the same in Game 2. The game plan of being physical, going after offensive rebounds and playing solid defense is sound. What needs to be added is sharper passing and being ready to receive passes (several great passes were lost in Game 1 due to lack of awareness). Go Cavs!

We have to play better offensively. Shooting 40% all series is not going to get it done. That is, unless NJ shoots 37% all series.
Also, we need to make sure that Stern sends out another copy of the memo. We have to have all 8 guys on the floor on the same page.

Shut up! No one can find out about the conspiracy only Cavs fans are aware of.

Wow, I just realized we're currently on a 9 game winning streak.

We need to figure out how to help Z defensively on the pick and roll.

We didn't shoot FTs very well in game 1. We have to fix that soon.

Drew needs to pay more attention to Moore. That's his man, no?

Going to Lebron in the post. Good sign. They should come down and do that again. The Nets didn't double him.

I like seeing a lot of movement when Lebron gets into the post. It's not going to be effective unless there are cutters coming through in case of the double team.

I like our defense tonight. If we keep it up we'll eventually be able to get on a run. The Nets are just hot right now.

When Mikki Moore is your only chance down low, you know you're screwed.
