I think it's a Brazillian thing. Not just a big men thing. Look at Ronaldo and Ronaldinho. Brazillians enjoy the crap out of life. Good for Andy.

AV and his agent are not very smart if that's the case. If I'm the Cavs, my offer would start decreasing daily. I don't see him being worth more than the MLE in reality. Giving him a bit extra over a shorter might be smart business to get a deal locked up under normal circumstances, but AV passed normal circumstances a month or two ago.

What a disaster. I would think the only option left is a sign and trade at some juncture. Possibly next offseason.

Andy will have to come down with his demands to get any team to consider a sign and trade. GM's around the league know this is a precedent type of situation, if Andy comes away with a $9-10MM+ contract its bad for teams everywhere as hold-outs will become the norm.

And if he did come down with his demands, the Cavs would surely rather just keep him in the 1st place.

Andy is pretty much out of options besides taking what the Cavs have on the table. Every other alternative is even worse for him.

Pride. Unfortunately for AV, the CBA is what it is - you can't just change the rules to suit what you see as fair.

You want to get your unrestricted freedom, you take the qualifying offer just like Pietrus did in GS. Otherwise you take the best multi-year deal you get
