I think the Nets do that trade
BTW the Nets arent getting rid of Kidd cause he is an *******. If he doesnt get traded this season he isnt going to be a disruptive element

Re: Come on Ferry!
From the begining i think the best way to build around James would have been smart shrewd draft choices. If you look back, if Paxson hadn't been such a dunce in drafting and trading our picks we could have at least put young talent around Lebron.
We haven't really seen what kind of drafter Ferry is. Shannon Brown probably was a fine pick where we got him, but he just wasn't better than the people we already had. Gibson drafted himself basically. So who knows how Ferry is going to do with the draft.
It would almost be better if Lebron did get injured enough to miss this season and we could get into the lottery. That's how Jordan got Pippen.

Re: Come on Ferry!
Gasol is severely underrated. He's got a big contract but he's only freakin 27 and has consistently put over PER's of 20 when healhty in the NBA. This was highway robbery IMO. Kidd while great is short team, Lakers may be set for 5 years upfront btw him and Bynum

Re: Come on Ferry!
Yeah I think Gasol is almost on Dirk's level. You see it more when he is playing for Spain. But yeah. I think the Lakers got a huge steal.

Quote:
According to Chicago Tribune columnist Sam Smith, Cleveland and Portland both had offers in with the Memphis Grizzlies in an effort to land 7-footer Pau Gasol, who was traded Friday to the Lakers.
According to Smith, the Lakers initially were offering Kwame Brown and Vladimir Radmanovic; the Cavaliers supposedly were offering Drew Gooden and Larry Hughes; and the Trail Blazers were believed to be offering Raef LaFrentz and Travis Outlaw.
The Grizzlies were chasing expiring contracts, however, which posed the problem.
Smith also writes that Chicago, the team who has been linked with Gasol for over a year, were dangling Andres Nocioni and Tyrus Thomas while the Grizzlies wanted Joakim Noah and Thabo Sefolosha.
While there was no official offer on the table, Smith writes that Memphis insiders believe that Chicago would have accepted the deal because none of their core were included, and the Bulls would have taken back a contract like that of Brian Cardinal.

Well looks like Ferry lost another trade bid. Gooden/Hughes is a horrible offer btw, by far the worst on the table for the Grizz. Not surprised they shot that down.

Good grief.
Why can't the Nets just take pity on us and give us Kidd?
It's not fair

Cavs get:
Jason Kidd
Ben Wallace
Nets trade:
Jason Kidd
Nets get:
Kirk Hinrich
Shannon Brown
Ira Newble
Eric Snow
The Bulls do this to save money. And they get a low post scorer. And they get rid of locker room cancer Ben Wallace.
The Cavs do this to get Jason Kidd and get a back up big to play behind Varejao.
The Nets do this because Jason Kidd is an ******* who they don't want. And they get Hinrich, a good young player. Like they wanted. And who would help their defense. They get expiring contracts in Shannon Brown and Ira Newble. And they get Eric Snow who comes off the cap NEXT year, but in the mean time can teach Marcus Williams and Kirk Hinrich how to play the point guard position(Eric is going to be a coach when he retires. Hell he'd probably be a better coach right now than Lawrence Frank).
Everyone talks about we don't have what New Jersey wants. But we might have what other teams want. We might be able to get this done using a third team.

With Hinrich involved thats a deal I would consider.

Re: Come on Ferry!
So ****ing unfair, how are all these teams landing ridiculous deals!? Gasol for trash, Marion for a washed up Shaq, and then Garnett AND Allen before the season even started?
Can we get Kidd? Please? Please please please please please? I'd even be ecstatic by getting Miller or any decent shooter at this point
