What's up with Hughes?
He's actually been playing pretty well. It looks like he's finally knocking down the spot up 3, and he's starting to move without the basketball. This on top of his defense.
Is he finally coming around?
If we ever get the player that was with the Wizards, then he's a good fit, and we don't really need to trade him.
Thoughts?
Look at his numbers over the last 5-15 games. He's right around like 17/4/4 with 40 percent shooting. Which is close to what he's been for his career.

Re: What's up with Hughes?
He's inconsistent: the reason is he's never had a good jumpshot and never will. He made up for it in the past by being able to get to the foul line. Although he's gettign to the line a bit more I just don't see teams that scared of him at all, prepare for a lot of games where he'll go 3-11 followed by a 20 point outburst and then back to a 2-10 night

His jumpshot is looking more balanced though. And he's getting lift on it finally. Mark Price fixed his free throws. Maybe that's finally translating to his jumper?

Frankly no: number of FTA will make or break Larry's value. Even if his standing still jumpshot is improved his poor basketball IQ kills his shot selection. He needs to get to the line to make up for his inefficiency every where else

Frankly, aside from horrible shot selection, we can't critisize him about many other areas. As a matter of fact, I feel he actually has a more than decent "BBIQ". Plus, he's a fairly good defender (granted, not a 1st team all D) , and a vastly underrated passer (IMO).
BTW, the shots Lebron and Kobe take are often as difficult as the ones Larry takes. The difference is that he's currently making just 35% of them, compared to 48% and 45% respectively from Bron and Kobe.

He's got terrible bascketball IQ on offense: he doesn't rotate the ball well, take dumb shots and you're post illustrates it!. You take shots that you can make not what you hope can go in. That's why Boobie is a smarter offensive player then Hughes: he takes what is given to him. He could easily shoot 35% from the field too if he decided to jack up shots.
WIth regards to his passing: his TO rate is high which negates whatever good he brings on his passing
I do agree that generally Hughes is a much smarter player on the defensive end. Here I think the effect is becoming overstated. his overall net defensive rating is still not that good.

Re: What's up with Hughes?
He isnt a jump shooter & Lebron isnt a jump shooter.
Both of them love to drive the lane. and get to the basket. Thats why Gibson is so valuable he spreads the defence. Giving LeBron room to work. it seems whenever Lebron is out Hughes steps up but otherwise he looks lost. but having said that I havent watched many Cavs games. See you THursday (friday for me)

Re: What's up with Hughes?
If he keeps playing well, great. Maybe some team will see his recent numbers and agree to trade for him. You guys need to rid yourselfs of Larry Hughes. Lebron isnt going to put up with this team forever. Do what you can to keep him in Clevland.

bu-ump
Larry has been playing pretty solid since the New Year. He needs to continue to do so, you see tonight when he plays like we paid him to play, he actually is a good sidekick for Lebron.

13 fta today. Like i've said thats what we need to see. Until he gets to the line expect the same inconsistency.

The only problem with that is he will surely get injured if he starts attacking the basket more. Still probably worth the trade off
