Taking the Cavs back the finals?
After watching Mike Bibby shipped to Atlanta, and the game against the Rockets, James had a triple-double and yao or mcgrady didnt even score over 20, but somehow the rockets won behind rafer alston...ok that right there should be a sign. when the 6th or 7th best team in the west beats you when they're stars dont play so hot. yea i doubt you're gonna make it to the finals, and i feel for you cavs fans kuz last year Boston was horrendous and i did not think they could turn it around this quickly.

Re: Taking the Cavs back the finals?
We're okay. Really we are. We had a bad shooting night, Houston nickle and dimed us. Houston matches up well with us. Nobody else in the East really does.
We can get to the finals again, especially when we get healthy. We just may not win it.

i believe cleveland can get there again, but james cant play by himself and gibson, hughes and illgauskas are gonna have to play big or go home, kuz thats what they're up against this year. Boston, Orlando, and Detroit are easy front runners for the East title this year. So cavs MUST step it up or make a trade...its that simple.

Re: Taking the Cavs back the finals?
The Cavs shouldn't rush anything like futur has said. Going for THE not and not just any move is key. They match up too well against Detroit & Boston to just eliminate them this year. Detroit made needed improvements, and Boston got much better. Cleveland can still pull it together. Cleveland scares me as a Pistons fan. Hughes is big enough to keep-up with our guards, AV/Gooden can keep on the boards, Z can shoot over our bigs and then there is Lebron.

Re: Taking the Cavs back the finals?
It shouldn't have been that easy IMHO. Detroit just went down a step and Cleveland took it up. With Detroit's new bench we should keep it together. If it goes down, Det vs. Cle it'll be seven games without a doubt.

Re: Taking the Cavs back the finals?
It's important that the Cavs' next move is the right one because there's not enough time left in James' contract screw up again.
I think any trade that loses the Cavs pick this year is questionable. Because this is a team that definitely needs to use the draft wisely and get the team younger and more athletic. We don't want to pass up the shot at getting another Boobie or Varejao.
I want to keep our picks, maybe even trade up in the draft it need be. And then move the expiring contracts this summer for a bonafied star.
We can do sign and trades with them I think as well this summer. Which means we can look at guys like Deng, Igdoula, Ben Gordon if we want. Maybe Monte Ellis?
We can probably sign Pietrus or Matt Barnes outright to replace Newble.

Re: Taking the Cavs back the finals?
I also wonder if Arenas isn't going to be available this summer. I know in the past he hasn't been a big fan of Lebron particularly after seeing Hughes struggle here. But would the prospect of reuniting with Hughes swade him?
I'm not sure how we'd get him. But:
Arenas
Hughes
Lebron
Varejao
Z
Is like a hyper version of the Wizards from three or four years ago.
Plus we'd get all the antics Arenas does.

Re: Taking the Cavs back the finals?
It seems that trade possibilities with Gooden have come and gone. What do you guys think about him? Is he a piece or player for Cleveland?

Re: Taking the Cavs back the finals?
I think the only players the Cavs need to keep are Daniel Gibson, Anderson Varejao, and Lebron James. That's the core of the team. Everyone else can be moved if an upgrade is available.
