We'd still have a few expiring contracts left over this summer if we made this deal, maybe we get Redd too :P
And I like Mike Miller more than Redd because they are both good shooters, but Miller can actually play defense. So we can maintain our style of play. And I like the notion of using this Lowery fellow with Boobie to press opposing guards in the second unit. You could play him at the point. Boobie at the two(like our DJ/Boobie-court. Then Varejao and Devin up front with Z or whoever.

Miller's actually a horrible defender. Absolutely horrible.
It's not that he doesn't at least try, but he's just awful. Weakest part of his game.

Re: We have the worst luck.
Also Mike Miller is a WAY better ball handler and creator than Michael Redd. So by bringing him in, it takes a lot of pressure off of Lebron.

He was part of good defensive teams under Fratello. And Iavroni apparently thought enough of his defense to have him guard Lebron one on one(snicker).
I'm not saying he's a good defender. But I'm saying that he's better than Michael Redd at it. Which isn't hard. Has anyone ever seen Michael Redd even get into defensive position?

Can Brian Cardinal still play or is he retired?

Cardinal could spread the floor - fill the Marshall role.
I'd be all over this trade. This is the type of deal we need to get our talent level back up. If Ferry can pull this off, then we can make a smart deal with our expirings next year and look to pick up a replacement for Z in one of the next couple drafts.
Miller/Lebron/Boobie/Lowry/AV/Gooden/Z is a nice core to build upon. Add a star with the remaining expirings next year and you have a championship core.
Even better is the year after that, Larry comes off the books and will be another huge trade chip

Re: We have the worst luck.
Cardinal will play the Marshall role for a couple years longer.

Re: We have the worst luck.
Brian Windhorst is going on and on in his blog about some blockbuster trade that will change the dynamics of the team, that isn't being reported anywhere right now i.e. not Miller(and I would assume not Artest). Who could it be? He also said it would free up the Cavs for a second trade and that they were trying to get a draft pick coming back in the deal which would portend us sending out somebody pretty good if we are wanting a draft pick back.
Is this the Earl Watson deal we've all been waiting for :P
Maybe it's Michael Redd? Maybe it's Jermaine O'Neal and Tinsley?

Re: We have the worst luck.
We have 12 hours - and nothing will happen after 3:01pm that cavaliers roster will stay the same.

Re: We have the worst luck.
I'm more afraid of us making a bad deal, then not making a deal at all. I'm really paranoid that Ferry is going to do something rash.
Like trade Zydrunas to Dallas for a draft pick and Jason Terry or something like that.
