Need to go small and push the tempo
We're not getting ANY easy baskets and everything is halfcourt. Celtics are basically concentrating on James and rotating hard.
Need to push the tempo and get more shooting in there to break this up a bit

Re: Need to go small and push the tempo
Our guards have problems pushing the ball against pressure...
Lebron shooting 8-42 is absurd though, completely absurd. That is Larry Hughes territory. The only way he will get some good looks is in transition so your probably right, going small and pushing the tempo might be our only chance

Re: Need to go small and push the tempo
the cavs need to create more space to run their offense and our having trouble knocking down shots so they only play their best shooter for 20 minutes? how does that make sense?
they should go ahead and just start lebron, gibson, and west on the perimeter. if not gibson sits for far too long to start each half and the team really doesn't have another reliable long range shooter.

Yeah I agree with you I think we have to West/Boobie backcourt with Sasha at the 3 and Lebron. Need to push the tempo and create space but I'm sure you notice that Mike Brown is absolutely glacial in terms of making changes. I'm sure you also noticed after one game that Mr. Potato Head doesn't change his lineups even after TO's which is mindboggling to me

Problem is that Gibson is vulnerable defensively.

When your offense has been as bad as ours has been we're going to have to sacrifice.

it's not like he's going to be worse than wally.
and with gibson in there, they'll force more turnovers because he plays the passing lanes better and is good at stripping bigger players.

Re: Need to go small and push the tempo
True. No other option I guess.
The other problem with going small though is getting destroyed on the glass (of course the Celtics killed us on the glass tonight with a big lineup so...)

i think the cavs should stay with their normal big frontcourt for the majority of the game, just that they should go small in the backcourt much more than they have in this series. and then they can go small with lebron at the 4 for something like 10 minutes a game in all. that way they don't give up rebounding which over the regular season has been one of their biggest strengths but they still try to get up and down at times and are able to spread the floor and try to get lebron going offensively.

Re: Need to go small and push the tempo
Strange thing happening. I honestly think we CAN beat them 4 times...as long as Lebron is himself. And I don't buy the argument that it's all because of the Celts D.
Certainly they're excellent, possibly the best team D in the league, but I KNOW Lebron isn't gonna have 4 games like these first two. So I'm keeping faith. Let's concentrate on protecting home, and we should be ok.
If we can come back to Boston 2-2, anything can happen. I remember last year, when we came back to the Q down 0-2 vs Detroit, I had the exact same feeling I have now = worried, but not down. We can do it.

Re: Need to go small and push the tempo
I'm not sure if going small and pushing the tempo would do it. They like that pace, and we're not used to playing like that.
The biggest issue is taking care of the ball. They are very sneaky defensively and get their hands of everything. They had a huge amount of steals off of Lebron passes, and it seems like every loose ball went their way.
Lebron will figure it out eventually. No way he has three straight turds, especially at home.

Re: Need to go small and push the tempo
We are getting beat up inside with there horses, and we want to go small? I understand our offense looks terrible but going small is just goint to have Lebron at the top 4 guards at the 3 point line. Kick to the shooter and fire away one and done.
I think we stick too our same lineup and have Lebron play off the all as much as possible, run him off screens like Rip Hamilton. All the attention will be on him and I'd trush West to find the open guy.
