Matching On Ricky Davis??
I was just wondering what the opinions of Cavs fans were regarding the offer sheet signed by Davis for the T-Wolves? Are the Cavs going to match? I hope they do, because a trio of Wags, Davis, and Miles will be very exciting.

I believe that they will match. You can't let your talented players get away without getting something in return. Not to mention when you have a team that is rebuilding you need all the talented players you can find. I also like the idea of Miles, Davis, Wagner and maybe even Mihm and Diop all on the floor at the same time. Overall the difference between what the Cavs were offering and what Davis signed is not that great. Mainly just a difference in years.

I foresee the Ricky Davis signing similar to what occured with Golden State/Houston and Marc Jackson.

I think that if Davis REALLY wanted out of Cleveland he and his should have listened to the Cavs braintrust. Everything that they said hinted to the fact that they would match any contract offer that he received. Therefore the only thing that Davis could have done was played one more year in Cleveland and he would have been a unrestricted free agent eligible to go anywhere that he chose. If he did not take this into effect or had his agent tell him. He was stupid and should also fire his agent. So far I have heard nothing from Davis to the effect that he doesn't want to be in Cleveland, but, his agent has been quoted to that effect. Don't get mad at the Cavaliers be mad at yourselves.
I actually like the way that Davis plays but if he (or his agent) continues to be a knucklehead he will turn all of the Cavs fans against him.

Davis can't be traded until December 15th and can't be traded to the TWolves till August 21, 2003. He'll definately start the season as a Cavalier.

I don't think that the Cavs will trade Davis at all. I think if they were going to the probably would have done it as part of a sign and trade.

Finally Ricky has started talking himself he says that he is excited to get back to play with Cleveland and that he always expected the Cavs to match the offer. So I guess it really does depend on who you chose to believe regarding him being unhappy. Frankly I'd believe him over his agent anyday.

The Cavs needed to keep Davis as part of their promising youth. they look very good with Wags, D & RD, look for a high speed, run em up style of offense next year, I think the Cavs were concerned about filling up the seats this past year, I don't see that happening next year at all, it'll be one high flying show, and Cavs fan, you'll enjoy and love D.Miles, he was the Clippers and the city of LA's favorite athlete and you'll see why.

I hate agents
Davis' agent was spreading rumors slurring the Cavs all in an effort to try to make more money for himself.
