I think

that if Lamond doesn't get major minutes in Toronto, the Raptors fans will see they really didn't get that much better of a deal. He will disappear one game and shine the next. They got a better talent, but I'll take the pick, the player, and the loss of a poor influence in Lamond.

In my opinion, it is the same as the Wesley Person trade... the Cavs might not have got as much talent back as they traded, but as a HUGE Cavs fan I am so glad to see these two lazy cry babies go. And again, it isn't what we did or didn't get in return, it is the fact that we got them (and Ced Henderson, and Bobby Sura, and Chris Gatling, and Shawn Kemp, and Tractor Traylor, and Chris Mills) off of our roster!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sure, we might not win games, but we are compiling players with enthusiasm and loads of potential... not a bunch of money collectors. Next off the roster....... Tyrone Hill. I don't care what we get for him.... get him off my team. And the next one who can go is Chris Mihm. Also, I think Stewart will play a lot at the PF... especially if we move Tyrone and Mihm plays lost like usual.

I know it is not the popular view, but I like what Paxson is doing... I think Lucas is fine as a coach.... I wish we could've gotten more in the Andre trade, but I like a lot of our players now: Darius, Ricky, Wagner, Z, Diop, Smush, Boozer. Compare them to the dead bunch I listed earlier...... good job Pax.

There are 2 keys to this trade:

(1) The memo that said: Get Lamond Murray off this team! and
(2) Build for the future, draft picks, young talents, etc.

Murray was out sooner or later. They're obviously giving up 15 PPG for 2 PPG, but once again this isn't a Championship-caliber team, yet. Hopefully they can cash in on the pick. Hopefully it can be a mid-first ronder and they can sneak in a good talent, perhaps at PG like Troy Bell, or Ridnour, or Hinrich (assuming they, and Duhon all come out...Duhon would go earlier). I'm glad to see that they finally signed Smush Parker. I've been waiting and waiting and waiting for this to happen. He showed soe promise at Fordham and once again, he's a young talent that will hopefully pan out. Once again, they key here is to be patient and wait for the Cavs to develop, and mature in to a solid juggernaut in the Eastern Conference, I'm glad to see they've FINALLY started to take steps towards the juggeraut status, now we just sit and wait.

Cavs have given up about 45 pts per game (Miller, Murray and Person) off of a team that didn't have enough scorers last year. While I am excited about the rebuilding, I am kinda anxious about a team that will probably be worse than even the old Stepien era Cavs.

Again

I may be a "homer", but I like what they are doing. I don't think I am blind to the trouble this team will have, but I like what I see building.

Starting lineup, with my opinion (not counting injuries or further trades):

Center - Z. Healthy finally, with hopefully his foot problems resolved, and with a full summer to work on shooting and conditioning instead of re-hab, and a full camp to get in synch with the young'ns. 30-32 minutes per game,16ppg, 8rb
Sub - Diop. Hopefully his injuries are resolved too. Will get the bulk (no pun intended) of the sub minutes. He really needs to play more to evolve. Has the potential, but will not develop it in practice... must do it in game situations. 14-16minutes, 7ppg, 5rb, 3blks

PF - weakest spot on the team. (I think Tyrone will be traded before long.) Starter - probably Mihm, possibly Stewart or Boozer depending on camp performances. All will get minutes. Mihm - if he can develop more of everything: offense, defense, intensity, consistency will play 18-20minutes, 8ppg, 5rb
Subs - Stewart will play more at the PF than at center. (Mihm will log minutes at center if needed.) 14-16 minutes, 5ppg, 6rb
Boozer- 8-10minutes, anything he averages is gravy

SF- Darius Miles is the man. Hopefully his outside shot develops. Not sure if he will be a leader on the team... I think not, but might lead the team in shots! (See Wagner for leadership.) Darius will log more minutes and shoot more FT's than anyone else. In fact, the whole team might draw and shoot a lot of FT's.... Z draws a lot of fouls, Darius, Ricky and Wagner should draw a lot of fouls too. 40+ minutes per game, 18-20ppg (with a scary low FG % probably), 6-7rb.
Subs- does it really matter? Barnes, Jones... whatever... that's why they were trying to move Jones... It doesn't matter.

SG - Ricky. He is as excited as anyone... well, besides Dujaun. Ricky is stoked that the "old guys" got dumped, clearing the way for him. Funny thing is, is now HE is one of the "old guys"! 30-32 minutes, 18-20ppg, 4rb, 3 asst, fan favorite and he'll play to that all night long.
Sub - Wagner. Will have growing pains, but could be "lights out!" some nights. Will play minimum minutes at point, but I think he will eventually move to point and be a very vocal leader. 16-20 minutes and he will bring the ball up and some plays will run through him, 10-12ppg, 2rb, 2 assts tho hopefully more.

PG - not sure. I think Paxson is still trying to make a trade for a PG, using Tyrone, Mihm, Jumaine all as possible trade bait. I do not think our starting PG will be either Smush or Palacio. So, generic specualtion for our multi-headed PG... 44 minutes per game (Wagner will play "point" for a few minutes each game) 10ppg, 8 assists

I don't care what the numbers add up too, this is just my specualtions. I think the team will be fun to watch, and some nights they will get "kilt", and other nights they will play surprisingly well. Z, Mihm, Darius, and Ricky are not rookies... they know the league, the travel, etc... and will be the foundation for growth. If Diop and Wagner can improve, that will be a huge plus. I think we will lose a lot, but if things go right we COULD win 30.

By the way, notice I didn't mention LeBron James the whole time! What? I just mentioned him?!? Ohhh.... nevermind.

I can't see the Cavs winning 30 games. They have not a single shooter on the team right now. I think that Wagner will develop into a good shooter but he is really a scorer and slasher. Everyone will just pack the paint to prevent driving to the basket.
