Yes I am and by the way i was on the show and i discussed Shawn Marion He told me he loves Shawn Marion to death but thinks giving up z, Wagner and first round pick is too much. However he paused for a moment and really gave it a good thought, he cant exactly go on air and say ya we should trade away these guys because juanny and z would be like wtf!

My plan all worked out though, Silas now knows Marion is obtainable and will give it some thought.

Not crackin' on you Tyguy, and I wisht I was listening to be able to give you some feedback on how you sounded.... but I'm pretty sure Silas/Paxson and company are already aware that Marion "is obtainable". (Pretty sure Silas, after hearing your suggestion, did NOT slap his forehead and go..."MAN! Shawn Marion??? I NEVER thought of him!!!")

There is probably daily talk on the staff about which guys are free agents, which guys are restricted FA's, which guys might they be able to trade for, which guys are good fits, etc.... and I'm thinking Matrix has been discussed to some extent.... but probably not for Z, Wanny and our 1st.

Z for Matrix straight up? (I think it is fair value, but considering Z comes off the books next season, Phx has nothing to show for this trade.)

Wags and our 1st?.... I'd do it in a second. I'd even do Wags, our 1st, and the 1st that Toronto owes us.

However... are we even allowed to trade our 1st? We already owe someone our first non-lottery 1st round pick.... isn't that Phoenix already? (Or Denver or somebody out west...) Anyway, I'm pretty sure teams are not allowed to trade back-to-back firsts... and since we are already on the books to owe a first, the league may not let us trade another 1st at this point. Can anyone confirm this or shed some light on it?

No. But I wondered the same thing if that helps any.

Judging from Silas reaction it didn’t sound like he gave Marion thought before. He isnt going to go out right and say ya we should trade these guys away for Marion, how would Z and Wagner feel? Also if he didn’t like the idea he would have given me a flat out no, but he paused for a moment and did sound sure of himself when he told me it MIGHT be too much. After that he went on to tell me how much he loves Marion lol. Also going by Paxons safe moves in he past I’m not too sure he really gave Marion much thought either

My mission was a success because I knew Marion was A Silas guy and he got real excited when speaking of him after I mentioned it is very possible to get him via trade cause of Phoenix interest in t-mac.

Cleveland trades: SG Dajuan Wagner (6.5 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 1.2 apg in 16.1 minutes)
C Zydrunas Illgauskas (15.3 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.3 minutes)
Cleveland receives: PG Howard Eisley (6.9 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 4.1 apg in 21.8 minutes)
C Jake Voskuhl (6.6 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 0.9 apg in 24.3 minutes)
SF Shawn Marion (19.0 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 2.7 apg in 40.7 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +10.7 ppg, +7.0 rpg, and +5.1 apg.

Phoenix trades: PG Howard Eisley (6.9 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 4.1 apg in 21.8 minutes)
C Jake Voskuhl (6.6 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 0.9 apg in 24.3 minutes)
SF Shawn Marion (19.0 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 2.7 apg in 40.7 minutes)
Phoenix receives: SG Tracy McGrady (28.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 5.5 apg in 67 games)
C Andrew DeClercq (3.2 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 0.6 apg in 71 games)
Change in team outlook: -1.3 ppg, -5.9 rpg, and -1.6 apg.

Orlando trades: SG Tracy McGrady (28.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 5.5 apg in 39.9 minutes)
C Andrew DeClercq (3.2 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 0.6 apg in 17.1 minutes)
Orlando receives: SG Dajuan Wagner (6.5 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 1.2 apg in 44 games)
C Zydrunas Illgauskas (15.3 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 1.4 apg in 81 games)
Change in team outlook: -9.4 ppg, -1.1 rpg, and -3.5 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

There were BYC players involved in this trade, so this trade is subject to the BYC provisions of the CBA. Due to Cleveland, Phoenix, and Orlando being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Cleveland, Phoenix, and Orlando had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out unless trade exceptions were used for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

As you can see Z has to be involved with the trade no question, the deal doesn’t work unless Z is part of it. We also can’t dream about signing Marion out right because he has about 5-6 more years are on his current deal.
