After perusing the unofficial list of unprotected players for the expansion draft, I still think Clev has or will engage in discussion with the Bobcats to have them pick some players and then trade them to Clev... and we'd send DaJaun to them as part of our package.
Possible unprotected people who might be helpful:
Marko Jaric/LAC 6'7 25 yr old, hit 51-150 3pters for .34%
Rafer Alston/Mia 6'2 27 yr old, hit 161-434 3's for .37%
(can't believe Mia wouldn't cover this kid...maybe so...)
Kerry Kittles/NJ 6'5 30 yr old, hit 97-276 3's for .35%
Aaron McKie/Phil 6'5 31 yr old, hit 75-172 3's for .43%
I would be very happy if we made a deal with Char and got either Jaric or Alston in a trade, then signed Hedo in free agency. Then, we don't have to take a gamble on one of the little PG's in the draft, and we can take best player available.

Where is that info from? I don't doubt Kittles or McKie, but Jaric has my eyebrow raised and Alston is not possible.
Alston is an UFA, so he can't be protected or picked. Even if he weren't, there's just no way he's unprotected with league-worst contracts like Grant and Jones sitting idly by.
Also, while there's nothing impossible about Jaric like with Alston, he is still a curious opening. For a team who's biggest weakness is PG, it seems a little odd to leave your only signed player at that position available for the taking. This is even more true when you have less effective, more costly players (over time) at positions of strength; namely, Peja Drobnjak and Melvin Ely. Of course, like I said this is more my opinion than something based on facts, so maybe Jaric is out there for the taking.
