Re: Official 2009 Recruiting Thread
MSU landed WR Donald Spencer from Ypsilanti, Michigan. He is one of the best players in the state for the '09 class and is a great pickup for the Spartans. Look for 4* QB (at the very worst high 3*) Andrew Maxwell from Midland to commit today as well IMO, and 4* RB Larry Capers down the line. MSU should have a very good class from the state of Michigan this year.

Man MSU did get a RB commit but it wasn't Capers, it was Edwin Baker who will announce for the Spartans tomorrow. Capers is a heavy ND lean if offered.

Baker is probably better than Capers, however I would hold off on thinking MSU is worth a ****. It's the same story every year for them. Win a bunch of games early in the season, trash talk, then fade.

Capers is a better fit for us than Baker. I never said MSU was back but they are starting to take some of the top Michigan boys away from UM. If Dantanio can coach (which i'm sure he can) they could be a decent program soon. IMO though Capers is the best back in the state. His stats aren't as good as they could have been because he had to split carries with 2 other D1 guys the past couple of years. Now that they are gone I think his numbers will explode. Baker, and Jackson (forget his first name), and Teric Jones can all make a strong case though, it's really a matter of preference.

I think we will land him although I wouldn't count out Rutgers. But playing at the same school Anthony Fasano did, and Weis's strong New Jersey connections really helps our cause. He looks like a beast though, and if he is half as good a LB as Fasano was a TE I would take him in a heartbeat.

Honestly, I wouldn't be all to sad to see him leave NJ. Rutgers has a better shot with Glenn Carson, who figures to be the best ILB in the state, if not the best player in the state for 2009. Also one of NJ's best wrestlers, who Rutgers tends to always get for football. Carlo doesn't play against terrific competition, either. But if there's one thing about him that you'll love, it's his strength. He's won multiple teen strong man awards.

Yeah I think he is overrated as well but I still would like to have him. We need a big, strong, nasty LB in the middle and he fits the bill. Personally I would rather have TyQuan Hammock out of Ft. Wayne, Indiana than this kid but thats just me. I will take both if we can.

Re: Official 2009 Recruiting Thread
I'm behind in recruiting a little. Account I was using had their's deleted. I also don't have a team to follow anymore haha. I would get a rivals subscription, but the info there, I could get for free elsewhere, so I see no reason why.

Re: Official 2009 Recruiting Thread
JCB whats the word on Savage? Anything new? ND doesn't have much of a chance anymore but I was wondering who is in the running for him. If you guys land him he would be an absolutely huge pickup for the Scarlet Knights.
