LSU stands a great chance at Russell Shepard IMO. He seems to be in the Reggie Bush and Joe McKnight kind of mold. He's listed as an ATH but should be a RB.
Louisiana is putting out some really great prospects this year. 2007 was a down year in the state but 2008 is looking really good.

Sorry to rain on everything, but if Texas offers, he's theirs from what I've heard. He would probably commit now if they offered early(which they never do for whatever reason). He's probably going to end up as a QB. He also wants to play that position.

i don't know anything about him but i hope he's not planning on playing qb with that 45% completion percentage he has.
Latest article on him, he talks about his passing skills
Quote:
Shepard, who has legit 4.4 speed, is listed as an athlete in the Rivals.com database because he has the kind of talent that would allow him to succeed at a variety of positions. However, the 6-foot-2, 183-pounder has his sites set on quarterback at this stage, and he's been hard at work trying to improve his passing skills and show everyone that he's more than just a runner from the quarterback spot.
"I'm making good progress. The coaches come in and they notice that we don't throw the ball that much in games. But they look at film and they see that I can throw the football," Shepard said. "I had a Stanford coach came in and he said 'you can flat out throw the football.' I've had schools offer me just off my throwing so I think I'm improving."
For whatever reason linking to the '09 class in first post didn't work so just click that link I replaced it with and switch from '08 to '09 to see the rest of the top 100.
