Re: BBF Poll 6 Weeks In
1. Alabama
2. South Carolina 3. Oregon (Really big gap after this) 4. West Virginia 5. Florida 6. Kansas State 7. Notre Dame 8. Florida State 9. LSU 10. Oregon State I am kind of glad FSU lost, though. Sorry hobojoe, but I want to see a BCS title game that matches video game offense (West Virginia or Oregon) against a defensive team (Alabama, Kansas State, Notre Dame, Florida or South Carolina). Oregon has a better chance at winning against those teams than West Virginia, but I don't think they'll run the table. I hope I'm not overrating South Carolina, because they've always played their best game of the season against Georgia. Even when they stunk. But their defense is ridiculous even though their offense isn't scaring anybody. Last edited by ATLien; 10-07-2012 at 04:23 PM. |

2. Oregon 3. West Virginia 4. Kansas State 5. South Carolina 6. Florida 7. Florida State 8. Texas 9. Notre Dame 10. LSU Even with some schools losses, I still like them over others and won't simply move em up just cuz they're next in line. Last edited by Dissonance; 10-08-2012 at 03:18 PM. |

Re: BBF Poll 6 Weeks In
I'm too depressed to post a poll, but I definitely underestimated South Carolina. They still have a tough couple of games coming up, but they're a damn good football team.
I still think Florida State is one of the better teams in the country, but with an arrogant, defiant head coach who refuses to let his athletes win games against vastly inferior teams. Jimbo Zook's comments today almost made me angrier than I was Saturday night. He essentially threw his players under the bus and said he wouldn't change any of his play calls or coaching decisions from the second half. They were the "right calls", the players just didn't execute them. Unbelievable display of arrogance and denial. |

Re: BBF Poll 6 Weeks In
1. Oregon (**** the SEC)
2. South Carolina 3. Alabama 4. West Virginia 5. Kansas State 6. Notre Dame 7. LSU 8. Florida 9. Georgia 10. Oklahoma or Texas (whoever wins this week) Florida with an 8 point win in the Swamp, I still think it would be a bigger margin the other way in Baton Rouge. And to be honest I still don't know if either team is that good, both offenses suck ass, so I wish I could keep them both out. But who am I gonna pick, Ohio State, USC? Nope. |

Re: BBF Poll 6 Weeks In
Is Florida's offense much worse than Alabama or South Carolina? All three can run the ball, and USC/Florida have QB's that can run around you, but I don't know if any of them can make the tough throws when they have to on 3rd and long.
I guess if they are playing a defense like West Virginia, it won't matter. |

Re: BBF Poll 6 Weeks In
I'm probably crazy, but I actually think West Virginia's (and Oregon's) offense can score more against those SEC teams than vice versa. Everyone acts like Auburn was just so amazing to stop Oregon, but let's not forget that Oregon held a Cam Newton led team to 22 points and needed a last second FG. That was their second lowest scoring output of the year. Oregon is better on both sides of the ball in 2012 than they were in 2010. That's an Auburn team that dropped 65 on Arkansas, 49 on Georgia, and 56 on South Carolina.
South Carolina IMO is the best offense of the bunch this year; they actually have a decent QB and some legit NFL caliber playmakers. Bama and Florida really don't, same for LSU. To answer your question, I think Florida's D is probably a little better than SC's, but the offense is much worse. And I think their offense is about the same as Bama's, but the D is significantly worse. |

Re: BBF Poll 6 Weeks In
Florida's certainly ahead of where most thought they'd be in their rebuilding, but they're not a top 5 team in the country. The offense still has a long way to go, Driskel's not going to be able to go out there and win you a game yet. The defense is good but not great, they can be beat by a QB who can actually throw the ball. South Carolina is probably the most complete team in the country. Disagree with Notre Dame being overrated too, I think they're a legit top 5 team.

Re: BBF Poll 6 Weeks In
It's in South Bend, and I don't know if Stanford is really that good. They beat USC, but Barkley is looking like hot garbage this year and there's no depth, particularly on the lines. Scoring 55 on Arizona doesn't exactly say "contender" to me either, but giving up 48 points does make me question how good their defense really is.

Re: BBF Poll 6 Weeks In
West Virginia's defense probably has more future NFL players than Auburn's defense the year they won. And Oregon still couldn't score 20. Seriously, that's probably the worst BCS champion we've had. Usually, the SEC team will have twice as many pro prospects. Wouldn't surprise me if Oregon had twice as many NFL players than Auburn that game. Didn't matter in the end.

Re: BBF Poll 6 Weeks In
Didn't think it had been long enough to create a new thread... I tried not to just bump up and down from my last one because I hate when pollsters do that.
1. Oregon (But **** the SEC forever) 2. Alabama 3. Florida 4. Kansas State 5. Oklahoma 6. Notre Dame (they can go over OU this week, no big deal) 7. Mississippi State 8. Clemson 9. Oregon State 10. Florida State? |

Re: BBF Poll 6 Weeks In
Gonna say no undefeated teams this year.
KSU - Texas Tech, OK State, at TCU, at Baylor, Bye, Texas OK, none of those are any good, but none of them are bad either? Oregon - at USC, Stanford, at Oregon State, Pac-12 Championship Florida - Georgia, at Florida State, SEC Championship Alabama - at LSU, SEC Championship Whatever, hoping for Kansas State-Oregon State title game just to please the rest of the country. |
