That is completely insane!!

There are only like 3 or 4 fan bases in the country that should have those kind of expectations. Everyone else is just being irrational.

texas has an awful fan base with ridiculous expectations. if texas loses out, mack probably walks away at the end of this year against his will. win out and he's staying one more year for a shot at another title then he's gone. really, i see next year as likely his last at texas.

the top choice for texas is probably going to be chris peterson (in which case i wouldn't be surprised at all to see harsin going right back to boise to take over that job). whoever it is, it definitely is going to be someone with head coaching experience.

I didn't say a team that is in the title game every 4 years, I said a team that can contend for one. A BCS birth is probably enough to satisfy that. There are 3 or 4 fan bases that want to make a BCS game every year, or at least 2/3. Texas, Alabama, Florida, LSU at the very least.

Haha, what title will he be taking a shot at next year? The Big 12 South doesn't exist anymore.

an 11-2 texas team with a win at kstate and a pretty good bowl win would absolutely be expected to be in the national title race. and it would be a team losing 2 starters (i guess actually 3 since the punter would be included).

now is that going to happen? i guess we'll see.
