If I'm Al Golden and Tennessee offers me a deal..I take it and run. Who knows what will become of the U when the Shapiro thing is over with.

Would unfortunately be a smart hire. Horrible situation with the NCAA looking around, but if the money is there to hire a good staff it'll work out. Will absolutely kill recruiting in Georgia.

Bad decision by both coach and school.

Re: 2012-2013 Coaching Carousel

It's going to be Paul Chryst at Wisconsin. I'd bet everything I own on it. 6 years as OC, alum, Madison native. Now has HC experience and did a good job of righting the ship at Pitt after a horrible start to the year. Wish he could bring Bostad back with him.

I've pretty much gone through all the stages of grief already and have landed on acceptance about Chryst. **** Bielema about coaching the Bowl Game, I'd rather have Alvarez.

Charlie Strong to Tennessee, if they're smart.

Or Gundy. Or Fedora. Either way they'll make a better hire than Auburn or Arkansas.

Re: 2012-2013 Coaching Carousel

Apparently, the Auburn AD told Kirby Smart he can't coach in the bowl game and he can't hire his own staff. LOL

Louisville coach Charlie Strong has emerged as the front-runner to be the next head coach at Tennessee, multiple sources told ESPN.com on Tuesday.
His defenses at Florida and South Carolina were always a pain in the ass to play against.

Re: 2012-2013 Coaching Carousel

Everyone is talking about Bielema like "his system of running the ball" and "if he can develop OLs as good as he did at Wisky..."

Yo, Bielema has nothing to do with any of that. The offensive line tanked this year after we lost Bob Bostad to Pitt (for about a day) then the Buccaneers. The guy has never been a great recruiter either, it will be very interesting. Personally I think he had an ideal situation at Wisconsin, and a better shot to win a National Title here. Arkansas is going to be crazy hard. If we don't lose on 2 hail marys last year, we're in the title game against LSU.

Chryst has said he's committed to Pitt, but I'm sure Alvarez will put out some serious feelers there. Chryst is an alum and from the city, and if he doesn't take the job now he'll likely never get it. The other name is Darrel Bevel, current OC of the Seahawks who I think is a good hire; he QB'd the 1993 team that won the Rose Bowl.

Oh, and Barry is gonna coach the Rose Bowl. Book it. Meshes perfect with Bevell taking the job too, because that's about when the NFL season ends. Alvarez keeps the class together, then Bevell steps in January 5th or whatever.
