Such a horrible year for the Heisman. None of these guys really deserved it

I thought T'eo should have won it because of the things he did for ND that didnt show up on a stat sheet.

Te'o wasn't even the best defensive player on his own team! You could make an argument that Nix and Tuitt were more valuable.

Clowney should have been in New York if they wanted a defensive player.

And I'm sure if you went through the history of past Heisman winners, most played better against terrible teams than they did good ones.

Te'o is a great player, but he gets too much credit for Notre Dame's great defense. The line is fantastic and you can make the argument Stephon Tuitt and Louis Nix are just as good and valuable as Te'o but without being as charismatic and without as good of a story to tell.

Thought Jarvis Jones was the best defensive player personally.

^Far and away.

People were throat deep on T'eo cuz of Notre Dame. Good player, but Jones gets invited if he played there.

Jarvis probably was, but he missed a few games because of an injury. And hell, I could even argue he was Georgia's second best linebacker by the end of the year. Still finished in the top ten though!

Bullshit. Im not talking stats with Te'o im talking him Leading the defense. Directing everything and just being a Captain that Defense was great because he Lead them

Jones had the better stat season. But Te'o had the better season. Just watching him out there and the HUGE plays he makes when ND needed them. He was incredible this year

Re: Heisman Trophy Poll (2012)

ND would not be undefeated and in the BCS Championship game without Te'o leadership on that defense. Texas AM would be at the same place i think with a different QB. They probably wouldnt have beat Bama but still in about the same place

They probably go 6-6 or 7-5 with a different QB.

Jones: 11 games, 22.5 TFL, 7 FF, 12.5 sacks
Te'o: 12 games, 5.5 TFL, 0 FF, 1.5 sacks

Well you cant really compare the two. Jones is a outside rusher like Ware and Te'o is a coverage/tackler like London Fletcher
