I don't think there's much of a difference if they have Shane Skov instead of Manti Te'o. Maybe they lose a game, but maybe they are more dominant in some too.

Jarvis Jones made much more game changing impactful plays. You can point to Te'o making that INT against Oklahoma, but it doesn't compare to Jones' strip of Jordan Reed against Florida on the 5 yard line with 2 minutes left.

I just dont like that the guy that won the Heisman played like shit in 2 of the 3 huge games he played in. RG3 had 1 bad game i think it was against OK State

But ya i do think Jones and Lee deserved to be in NY. Maybe even more the Klein

Hell, where would South Carolina be without Clowney? They lose to Clemson, Tennessee (let that sink in) and possibly Vanderbilt too.

No way, not more than Klein. And just because I said Jones deserved it more than Te'o doesn't mean I think either should be at the ceremony. Defensive players need to make an impact at least on special teams, if not on offense. Why? They don't score points! Honey Badger I thought deserved it, but no one this year.

Also I'm still steamed at how much of a crock it was that Montee Ball didn't win last year. Seriously, what the ****.

Those stats are deceiving. We never blitz Te'O because we never have to. Our DL has dominated everyone, thanks to Louis Nix. Jones is probably sent on blitzes 10 times as often as Te'O is. I wouldn't trade Te'O for anyone, but I wouldn't disagree with anyone who says Jones or Clowney is better. I've said it before too, but Louis Nix is just as important to our defense. Dude is the best nose in college football. Tuitt was great at points, but he is a distant 3rd as far as best players on our defense.

Skov isn't even the best player on his own defense. Plus he is going to provide the leadership Te'O has? He would come up bigger in some games? I don't know about that. Leadership is a definite no, and Te'O has shown up big in every single big contest we've had. You didn't watch the Oklahoma game? Stats be damned, thats as dominant of a defensive performance as anyone has had all season. Skov is great, might even be better on the next level, but we aren't unbeaten with him replacing Te'O. Louis Nix has been our most important piece, but Te'O has always came up big when we need him this year.

"Leadership" is a bullshit intangible quality that means absolutely nothing because it can't be measured. Maybe the whole defense is just resilient, so Te'o's yelling and screaming doesn't motivate them any more than if he said nothing.

Te'o against Oklahoma was not as dominant as Jones against Florida or Mizzou. Against Washington State (a close game) Anthony Barr had 2.5 sacks, a tackle for a loss, a blocked kick, and a safety.
