It's funny cause the only reason that it's a story (which is definitely is) is because it was apart of a larger media perpetrated narrative already...if there wasn't already a disneyesque PR rush going with Te'o and the sports media then it wouldn't matter....if it was about some random backup lineman at Ball State you wouldn't have ever heard about it...the media just felt duped and betrayed so they're gonna pry all in his shit now

We wouldn't have heard of it maybe, but if this think happened to a Ball State backup Tackle and DID get on Deadspin, I think people would be extremely interested in it. Maybe not as intensely and for as long, but it would still make a mark on the pop culture.

The media definitely got busted not doing their homework in the first place. I mean you'd think they have checked the whole girlfriend dying thing. I mean it would have been a great story. Not really, but you know what I mean.
