I'm posting it everywhere, I might as well post it here too. Te'o is gay. This was his beard for his parents. The dude that ran the account is probably his actual boyfriend. When the parents got pushy and wanted to meet her they faked her death. Then the parents started blabbing to the media about all the tragedy their son has had to deal with. At some point Te'o had to just go along with it or come clean, but coming clean would be coming out as gay at Notre Dame, about to enter the NFL, with hardcore Mormon parents. He's 22. That's a lot of weight to carry, so he just went along with it. Now he's proper ****ed.

Well, this story is so bizarre that I wouldn't rule out any explanation. There is no way only a couple of people could have arranged a conspiracy of this proportion.

Is it bad that I had no idea about this whole supposed backstory or g/f of Te'o's? Barely watched programs like Gameday or read much about college football this yr. I just tuned in to the games. And never ND. Except the Pitt game. Of course, National title game.

Absurdity of the hoak, Nim's post may be right. Anything is possible. But he has to be involved with it. Not buying that he is a victim. Makes no sense.

Honestly, I'd buy that Te'o is dumb enough to have an internet relationship with a dude posing as a girl. The problem is that all roads lead back to this Tuiasasopo dude that he is apparently good friends with being the one running the account. Still... he's young and deeply religious, it wouldn't necessarily surprise me if he's dumb and inexperienced enough at life to have fallen for the oldest internet trick in the book.

On a side note, I don't think this should hurt is draft stock all that much. I mean...who cares? Dude can play football, and it's not like he's getting in any trouble. Don't be a fool and let this kid slip way too far and get scooped up by a great team who could really use him, everybody will forget about this in due time. I mean Ray Lewis might have actually MURDERED somebody, being a little crazy doesn't hurt when you play professional football.
