Re: BBF.com All-Americans (The Nation's Best 5)
If you look at the top of the Big East, Notre Dame does not belong there based on talent. They are not there from coaching. They are there because of Luke Harangody. He doesn't play with other first round picks like Love and Hansborough.

i've looked at his numbers and i've also looked at several other guys with similar numbers that i listed in my other post. hansbrough scores much more efficiently than him.
like i asked earlier what seperates him from those other guys? because his number are not that much more impressive.

With the exception of Lopez, none of those guys have led their teams to wins the way Harangody has. Lopez missed 9 games with a suspension and doesn't quite have the stats of Harangody.

Not to sound like a homer (although I am), its ridiculous that there's only 1 Kevin Love mention in this thread.

Well, let's give Brey at least a little talent. McAlarney ain't bad either, but he's no Robin Lopez or Wayne Ellington.

Aside from Lopez, all their team's stink.

You answered your own question. His numbers are better. Plus his team is better. Oh, and I'm not giving it to a guy who missed the first 1/3 of his team's season due to academic problems.

hansbrough - 23.3 pts, 10.4 rbds, .3 blocks, 55% fg, 81% ft, 1.76 pps, 32.7 minutes
harangody - 21 pts, 10.4 rbds, .9 blocks, 51% fg, 77% ft, 1.33 pps, 28.7 minutes
anderson - 21.5 pts, 9.9 rbds, .5 blocks, 49.6% fg, 88% ft, 43% 3s, 1.49 pps, 32.7 minutes
lopez - 19.3 pts, 7.8 rbds, 2.3 blocks, 49.6% fg, 78% ft, 1.44 pps, 30.1 minutes
hendrix - 17.9 pts, 10 rbds, 2 blocks, 60% fg, 52% ft, 1.49 pps, 30.7 minutes
love - 17.3 pts, 11.1 rebds, 1 block, 58% fg, 75% ft, 1.78 pps, 28.9 minutes
so harangody is better than those guys in stats? i just don't see a big difference. he's the least efficient scorer of all of them. he can be mentioned as an all american because he and notre dame are both having great years, but player of the year is just stupid.
so why's he better? team success? if so, it's hard to see him over hansbrough(who has better stats) or love(who has equal stats).

oh and his team shoots 41.4% from three. they might not have tons of talent, but shooting well makes things a lot easier on a big man.

Which is why I mentioned Beasley and Hansbrough first... You don't think if he was on UNC and Hansbrough was on ND, ESPN wouldn't have been all year with him? That's all "Like everyone else has been saying - he plays for UNC or Duke and he's the POY" meant.
