CBI?????? Come on. if you can not make to the NIT, why have a third post season championship? Is it because of Money? So of the 360 plus teams half of them make post season? Goodness.

I noticed that the championship is best of 3 which I kind of like.

How will this be perceived? I was on NITology.com and I noitced that there is even a CBIology. Good grief.

Is there a TV market for this? ESPN? VS? FOXsports? Turner?

according NITology.com, these teams are NIT bubble, and teams that very could be in CBI, would you watch these teams?

ohio, georgia tech, virginia, nevada, san diego st., akron, charlotte, sam houston st., miami oh, wright st., cal st. fullerton, valparaiso, boise st., bradley, alabama, brown

Of this list I think Virginia or G-Tech would be in the finals I would not watch it.

This tournament would likely appeal to a hardcore fan of say Sam Houston St. The problem is that it has no mass appeal, which obviously hurts TV revenues.

Will enough "Basketba;;" fans watch it.

Anyway, yes this is not an NCAA "owned" tournament so it is all about the money. If they can find the teams and amke a bit of a cash, why not. (however, I doubt they will have financail success)

anyone know when they announce the teams for the CBI?? am hoping either Wagner or SHU can make it out of the NEC though i know its a pretty big stretch.
