What a Win for UofL today!
On the road, against number 11 Marquette, in an incredibly tough environment... Reece Gaines just clinched the Player of the Year award with that last-second shot IMO.

I dont know about POY, but damn, you sure have to like what Pitino has done with those guys. Certainly a good time to be a Cards fan. After all those "lean" years.
Just a question, and not a jab of any sort, but did Pitino inherit Gaines, or did he recruit him?

Wow...
Pull-up three with game tied at seven second to go from 24 feet out!?!? Now that is confidence!
Great win for Pitino and UofL, and what a game! Honestly, though, Wade played a poor game, and that Merritt block on Stone(?) was probably clean...not to take anything away from Louisville. I guess the black unis aren't bad luck after all.

Don't forget their horrible loss to SLU the other day. Where was Gaines then. I am not doubting his Player of the Year eligiblity, I am just saying that you have to look at the big picture.

From what I saw in the boxscore, the combined 6(?) points from the trio of Taquan Dean, Francisco Garcia, and Marvin Stone against St. Louis was the reason for the loss, not Reece Gaines's 20+ outing.

Gaines was the reason we did anything at all offensively.
Wade didn't play a poor game. He got 15. It was just our defense, which IMO is the best in the nation, that did it to them. There's no doubt that Louisville plays with the best effort of any team in the nation; ask any of the teams we've beat. Other teams are just flat worn out by the last five minutes.
Denny Crum, AKA God (IMO; my idol) recruited Reece. Did anybody see him at the Marquette game? He has to be loving this!

Can anyone tell me who was guarding Gaines on that shot? I forgot.
Thank you.

Carl English. The 6-6 SG from Hawaii via Newfoundland, Canada is every bit as good as a Reece Gaines. Yep, you read that right.

English not drafted, hopes for tryout.
