AUBURN HILLS, Mich., March 2 - Detroit Pistons President of Basketball Operations Joe Dumars announced today that the Detroit Pistons have assigned rookie Alex Acker to the Fayetteville Patriots of the NBA Development League (D-League).
The 6-foot-5 guard was the 60th pick of the 2005 NBA Draft out of Pepperdine University. He made his NBA debut on February 21 vs. Atlanta and scored the first points of his NBA career on February 26 vs. Cleveland when he finished with two points.
Acker is the 25th player from 18 NBA teams to be assigned to a D-League affiliate. Thirteen (13) of the 25 NBA-assigned players are currently active in the D-League. Acker is the second Pistons rookie to be assigned to Fayetteville and will join Detroit teammate Amir Johnson on the Patriots roster.
