D-League announces expansion draft results

GREENVILLE, S.C., September 19, 2006 - The Colorado 14ers selected the rights to Elton Brown, a 6-foot-9, 255-pound power forward from the University of Virginia, with the number one overall selection in the 2006 NBA Development League Expansion Draft.

Brown played the final five games of the 2005-06 D-League season with the Florida Flame, averaging 31.8 minutes, 13.8 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. He collected 10 or more rebounds in three of the five games and converted 25 of 47 field goal attempts (.532). Brown was a member of the Orlando Magic Summer League Team in 2006.

Other first round selections included guard Andre Barrett (Bakersfield Jam), forward Jawad Williams (Anaheim Arsenal) and forward Duane Erwin (Los Angeles D-Fenders).

Each team that participated in the Expansion Draft will submit a preference list of its selected players to the D-League Office. Four players from that list can be signed to a league contract.

Free gas card with the Stampede

BOISE, Idaho (September 18, 2006) - With a new league, new NBA affiliation, new Head Coach, new players, new excitement and an increased demand for tickets, Idaho's professional basketball team wants to give back. Idaho is above the national average for the price of gasoline, and the Stampede are looking for you to slam dunk that extra cost.

The Stampede are offering fans that purchase full season tickets between today and October 15 a free gas card. For each seat purchased in Stampede section 105, fans will receive a $50 gas card. For each seat purchased in Rustler section 110, fans will receive a $25 gas card. Stampede section seats for the season are only $400. Rustler section seats for the entire home schedule are only $250. Gas cards will be distributed along with season tickets in November.

The Idaho Stampede will begin their ninth season-of-play on Friday, November 24 at Qwest Arena as a member of the NBA Development League. Individuals and businesses interested in purchasing season tickets, mini-plans, or to learn more about the upcoming season, may contact the Idaho Stampede office at 208-388-4667 or visit www.idahostampede.com.
