The New Mexico Thunderbirds are holding open tryouts this weekend, and former Lobo Chris Collins said he will be there with hopes of making the team.

Collins has worked out with the Thunderbirds before and he thinks his chances of making the team are good.

“Whatever role that they have for me, I think I can do a good job,” Collins said. “The coaches have seen me work out a few times, and they were impressed.

“Hopefully I can just get in there and play ball.”

Collins said making the T-birds would be a good opportunity for him and his family.
