Broomfield, Colo. - The new, state-of-the-art Broomfield Event Center has all the bells and whistles: an eight-sided scoreboard, a restaurant with a view, a separate basketball practice court, two new professional sports teams and on October 30th add in ghosts, goblins and lots of candy.
Broomfield Sports and Entertainment, along with its corporate sponsors, will host the first annual 'Trick or Suite' event at the Broomfield Event Center on Monday, Oct. 30 from 6-8 p.m. It is free to the general public. The Rocky Mountain Rage Hockey team, Colorado 14ers basketball team and corporate partners will decorate each of the 25 suites in the event center for trick-or-treaters to visit.
Rage players, head coaches of the Rage and 14ers, the 14ers Dance Team and both team mascots will make appearances.
"This is a great way to kick off our annual community relations season," said Jennifer Holt, Director of Community Relations. "It's free and fun for the whole family. It will also be a chance to meet players, coaches, mascots and dancers and get an inside look at the new venue."
The Rage travels to Youngstown (Ohio) to play the SteelHounds in a two-game series Oct. 27-28. The Rage will host the Tulsa Oilers in their first-ever home game November 10. The Rocky Mountain Rage is one of two expansion teams in the Central Hockey League's 17-team field. They join the Colorado Eagles, Oklahoma City Blazers and Wichita Thunder in the Northwest Division.
The Colorado 14ers is one of seven expansion teams in the NBA Development League. They begin the season Nov. 24-25 at the Idaho Stampede. They will return to the Broomfield Event Center Dec. 1 for their first home game against the L.A. D-Fenders. The 14ers is the affiliate team of the Denver Nuggets, Toronto Raptors and the New Jersey Nets.
