how do yall think this will effect us? Short term? long term?

I dont see it effecting us short time because the Mavs have been playing the ultimate team ball never reliying on one person too much.

But when he come back it may be rocky for a few weeks as he gets back into game shape but come playoffs well be right back on track. still see us as #1 in the west and soforth.

Honestly I think this could be a very good thing. With Raef and Nick out, this will allow for some of the guys like Bell to get some time, and Bradley... to see what they are made of.

If Bell can develop a little offensive, while being his defensive pesky-self, and if Bradley can continue to get these big minutes while Raef is out and doing as he will... The Mavs will have alot of confident and hungry players in 2 months from now.

Also without Raef, Dirk will play alot of pf, and will have to continue playing his good "D" up to now... which should only help the fella develop, another aspect to his game even further.

Undefeated, and playing a bit of defense, but two tough injuries. In addition to losing the skills of the two productive players, it wears the other players out in the long run, making them more susceptible to injury and possibly even weaker playoff performance.But all teams have injuries, so you make the best of a bad situation.

Van Exel is older, and may take a longer time to heal. Age does that, regardless of the athletic prowless of the player.

Barros, Maloney and McCloud are reasonably skilled available players. Maloney is a true point who can shoot, but is not speedy. Barros and McCloud can shoot but are more two guards, really. Ballhandling is below average for a point. Which one is in shape? That is an issue. None of the three excel on defense.
