Undefeated, and playing a bit of defense, but two tough injuries. In addition to losing the skills of the two productive players, it wears the other players out in the long run, making them more susceptible to injury and possibly even weaker playoff performance. But all teams have injuries, so you make the best of a bad situation.
Van Exel is older, and may take a longer time to heal. Age does that, regardless of the athletic prowless of the player.
Barros, Maloney and McCloud are reasonably skilled available players. Maloney is a true point who can shoot, but is not speedy. Barros and McCloud can shoot but are more two guards, really. Ballhandling is below average for a point. Which one is in shape? That is an issue. None of the three excel on defense.
