Pavel Podkolzin underwent successful brain surgery over the weekend to remove a tumor from his pituitary gland and was released from the hospital the next day. He can start working out in two weeks, but is out for the season.

This are bad news for such a young man! I wish him the best for the future and hope he'll be fine next year that he can concentrate on basketball. Man he is 19 years old and had a tumor in head!

This was not as major as it sounds. This is the simple surgery that they have been saying he will have for quite some time.

You hear the term "Brain surgery" and you think he is close to death but I believe that this was not a big deal.

In any case he wasn't able to contribute...I just hope he can work on his game for the entire year without problems related to this tumor..
