My email to Cuban
Dear Mark, I know there's the slightest of chances that you may read this and I really hope you do. It's what Australia's biggest Maverick fan thinks we should do this offseason, these are just a few of my ideas that you've probably thought of because your a genius (sucking up, hopefully you'll keep reading)
The Mavericks are my favourite team, and they are basically my life. I really hope you read this, I am not expecting a reply, but some indication that you have read it would make my day.
#1. Offer the MLE to Kwame Brown
He is someone who didn't work in Washington and they won't plan on re-signing him, with the right cocahing (I believe Avery Johnson is that), Kwame could eventually turn into a player in the league and replace Erick Dampier after he gets old. Kwame would come in at be our #1 backup big for both Dirk and Damp, and would be extremely helpful
#2 Go after a premier SG via trade
Two possible candidates? Michael Redd and Paul Pierce. Both would make Dallas title contenders and take some pressure off Dirk, if Finley is waived (due to him costing you 102 million over 3 years) then these guys should be #1 on our hitlist. Last year (in my opinion) we didn't go far because we lacked a true second option on offense and Jason Terry was forced to become that and then struggle with PG duties. Paul Pierce is on the block apparently and has told his agent he wants to be traded, and Michael Redd is a FA so if he's going to leave then Milwaukee may pull the trigger. I only ask you keep Josh Howard+Devin Harris in the backcourt
#3 Do not make big overhauls
Theres somethiong about this Dallas team, something that tells me we are close to winning the NBA title trophy. The past few offseason, we have completely overhauled our roster again and again in hope of a true Center. We have our center now, so we should only make minor tweaks (unless we get Michael Redd/Paul Pierce) to get to the top. <script><!-- D(["mb","

\r\nThis draft is\r\nextremely deep, and I think you could get solid contributors at the 20\r\nmark. If Memphis really is rumoured to be selling their pick, we should\r\ndefinately go after it. Draft a player like Diogu, May, Simien, Turiaf,\r\nTaft or Villaneuva..one of the many PF\'s in this draft.

\r\n#5 Go after Lorenzen Wright
\r\nIf you can\'t get Kwame\r\nBrown (or Dan Gadzuric), then go after Lorenzen Wright. His game is\r\nintensity and would be a good backup for Damp and Dirk in the middle\r\nand isn\'t a joke defensively. He has apparently demanded a trade and\r\nmight be out out Memphis soon, so jump on the opportunity quickly!
\r\n
\r\nThank you for reading this, I hope you even have a quick 2 minute think\r\nabout this and hopefully I\'ll be seeing some of those players ^^ win\r\nthe championship with Dallas next season

Re: My email to Cuban
First off this is an excellent post, and great idea's on the off-season. Now I agree with almost everything but Kwame Brown. He's got a bad work ethic and his attitude seems to be a big problem. The Mavs don't need anymore project players. I would only give him half the MLE at most because he's been a huge bust. Don't put money into a player who hasn't shown any consistancy in his career. They just got rid of a player in Shawn Bradley who was exactly that. Don't turn around and add another player of that mold to the roster.

3) Make Jason Terry the sixth man.
4) Sign/trade for athletic center.
Michael Finley was the true heart of the Mavericks.

Re: My email to Cuban
I just don't see Marc dropping Finley like that tho. He's been a huge supporter of Mike over the past few years but you never know he is still a businessman.

Re: My email to Cuban
I applaud you Theo!
However, I will mention one thing though. If you trade for Pierce or Redd, you're going to have to give up something pretty damn good, so that could be considered an overhaul.
