What about Cuttino Mobley?

If we are not able to use our MLE on a backup athletic Center how about going after Mobley as a replacement for Finley?

Of course my first option would be to use the MLE on a backup center but we will need to replace Finley's shooting. We can not rely on Stackhouse and/or Daniels as that guy. Neither one of them is a good long range shooter. Both are slashers and mid-range shooters. We must have another guy who can knock down the 3-pt shot to keep the defense from collapsing on our inside guys. Mobley is a good shooter and according to Kings fans is a surprisingly good defender.

So what should we do if we are not able to get a decent backup Center with the MLE. I don't want to give that money to a guy who is not worthy of it. I don't want to take on a backup center who does not really fill the need. I would rather let D.J. MBenga try to fill that role and use the MLE on a guy that will really help this team.

If we can not get a Dalembert, Gadzuric, Swift type guy then we have to maximize that money on a different need.

Re: What about Cuttino Mobley?

I'm no that high on a guy like Mobley. He takes A LOT of ill-advised shots and isn't just worth the trouble. He remind's me too much of a player like Antoine Walker. Has all the talent but just does too many dumb things that may cost the team games.

1) Start Devin Harris at point guard.

2) Start Jerry Stackhouse at shooting guard.

3) Make Jason Terry the sixth man.

4) Sign/trade for athletic center.

Michael Finley was the true heart of the Mavericks.

Re: What about Cuttino Mobley?

IMO he's not the type of 2 I want getting starters minutes on my Mavs. I don't want a 6'5ish shooter. I want a 6'6ish finisher who can knock down an open shot and lock down his man on D. I hope I'm talking about Daniels after his hard work in this years summer leauge otherwise we need to go get a guy who fits the bill.

*cough* Paul Pierce *cough*

Re: What about Cuttino Mobley?

If you guys weren't happy with Michael Finley, then you're not going to be happy with Cuttino Mobley. Mobley is in his prime and won't be as overpaid as Finley, but they are basically the same type of player.

I agree with you on this one: I find Finley and Mobley pretty similar players!
