Drew Gooden?
How do you guys feel about Gooden 14ppg 9rpg 1bpg? He may become on the market if the cavs sign Haslem since they already have Varejao waiting in the wings, so the question is, could he help our team IF he became available, and what would the cavs ask for? Ps. WE ARE NOT TRADING HOWARD DANIELS OR HARRIS SO DONT COME ON HERE WITH THAT CRAP

Re: Drew Gooden?
It's an interesting point, but Gooden is almost exclusively a Power Forward. He can't play any other position, and that was shown in Orlando's 21-61 when he couldn't play with Juwan Howard
Dirk Nowitzki is also, a PF, and he will get at least 36 minutes. That leaves only 12 minutes for Drew Gooden, and I know depth is a great thing but I'd feel we'd have to give up too much to get him
I'd love Anderson Varaejo though, that kid is awesome.

Like Theo said, it really doesn't make sense, unless we want to play him at backup center, then a) he's not really big enough and b) I don't want to trade anyone on the team for him when we have Hendersen, and two other young bigs at Center. If this was NBA Live, sure, but getting him wouldn't make sense for us.

Re: Drew Gooden?
I'm biased, but any of the Brazilian big man in the league right now would be good for Dallas. Even Araujo currently with the Raptors.

Re: Drew Gooden?
I have nothing against Drew Gooden but I believe that he plays a position which is the least need for the Mavs. We have Dirk Nowitzki and Keith Van Horn playing PF and Gooden is not a SF. And he is not big enough to play Center so despite him being a good player he is not a need of the Mavericks.

Re: Drew Gooden?
Expect to have to give up one of Daniels, Howard, or Harris. There was talk not to long ago about Eddy Curry ST for Drew Gooden. I don't think he is worth any of those guys personally, I think Haslem would be a guy that would work, he plays tough and gritty. Gooden is a good player no doubt, but not worth what you guys would have to give up to get him.

Good post. Another thing to consider is that Drew Gooden is up for free agency after this season I believe, so you'd either have to trade him again or let him walk in Free Agency, because I don't know why he'd stay in Dallas for the long term.
