Chat with Jerry Stackhouse today (8/23)
http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/chatNBA?event_id=9011
2PM Central Time, so it's about an hour and a half away. Should be interesting. Maybe he will give some info on whether or not he's starting.

Jerry Stackhouse: I definitely feel we will be a better team next year. We have pretty much the same team...except for losing Finley in the Amnesty Rule....so I think we will be even better. I wear No. 42 because my brother wore No. 24 at Florida State, so I turned that around and also, I was always a big James Worthy fan and he wore No. 42.
|
So he thinks we will be a better team next season. I hope he is right.

Aaron, Dallas: I heard today that Christie may be starting next season, are you allright with being the sixth man again next year?
Jerry Stackhouse: Yeah. That's Avery's call, whatever he thinks is best for the team. Although I would never turn down a starting role, I am comfortable and ready to assume the sixth man role too.
.... I hope Stack starts cus I know if Christie does hes just going to dissapoint everybody and even if he does I still think Stack will get more mins...IMO

Re: Chat with Jerry Stackhouse today (8/23)
Christie is only starting because of his defense and his ability to switch over to PG and let JET play SG. Im sure Stack will get more minutes than him too.

Stackhouse better get more minutes than Christie. Stackhouse is at least a notch better than Christie, probably even two notches.

Yea Stackhouse is better but Christies only starting to help handle the ball in the backcourt and his defense. I dont know if there will be a change.

Harris and Stackhouse complement each other while Jet and Christie should be a better duo. We'll see how it plays out throughout the season.

Re: Chat with Jerry Stackhouse today (8/23)
Im looking foward to see Christie and Terry in the backcourt. Terry can really shoot and we will get his chance to score more.

Agreed. I think having Doug start is a good idea. People need to remember that just because someone starts doesn't mean he'll log 40 mins.
I could see Christie averaging something like 25 minutes per game, then dividing up the rest with Marquis and Stack. Then he'll have some juice left in him if you need him at the end of the game to pester the opposition.
I just hope Avery doesn't forget about Devin. He needs minutes to develop.

Yea I think Devin is improving himself right now. He must use this offseason to improve.

Yeah devin *should* be busting his *** this offseason, they say the summer after your rookie season is the most important in your development. He just needs to get playing time.

Re: Chat with Jerry Stackhouse today (8/23)
It might be tough to get playing time this season because Christie might play the 1 a lot unless Devin really improves his game a PG skills.
