Nice Win Tonight

I know they played the grizz, but the grizz play hard for Hubie and it was a nice win.

The national commentators talk about the lack of defense, and it is true, but there is no lack of effort from them offensively. I still think they need a different mix of players - some more like Najera and Adrian, who play defense consistently. Bradley and Raef are NOT tough enough mentally or phsically to get this team into the WCF. I guess Cuban will find that out this year and hopefully make some deals in the off season to have a better balanced team.

They should have made a trade to get Brian Grant. He would have provided tem with toughness and a strong rebounder. I don't know exactly ehat the possible trade was but if they could have gotten him for a draft pick and maybe someone like Adam Harrington or another young player.

Brian Grant would have made a huge difference in their defense, as he knows how to defend, help defend, and rebound.

I think they need to have a much better mix of offensive players and defensive players. It seems as though most of the players want to score and help their teammates to score - but those same ones don't put the same effort into defense.

I guess there aren't enough players who can do both and that is why I think they need to make some deals to get that better balance - or they won't win that championship they want so badly.

Why he resigned Raef to that huge contract then?

Probably because Cuban and Nellie weren't into <b>"defense" </b>when they resigned him.

Were the Mavs ever into defense the last few years?

That was my point!

They tried "defensive schemes" this fall trying to employ some zone to help cover some glaring deficiencies. Hopefully, by the time the playoffs roll around, the team will be more comfortable playing both ends of the floor with all of that energy they possess.
